Ever found yourself endlessly snoozing notifications for your reminders?
Mindr offers an innovative new approach.
Its intuitive UI integrates the progress of your reminders right on your home screen, reminding you subtly about due dates.
What started with the working title "CoffeeKit" to keep track of my espresso machine maintenance, turned into a great alternative to conventional reminders.
In a world where we are bombarded by notifications, I just didn't want another app to remind me about stuff that I don't have to be right away but still should do soon. I used to use reminders but kept snoozing them every day.
The Apple battery widget then inspired me to just have a widget on the home screen to subtly remind me about the progress while still looking beautiful.
I use it ever since and now wanted everyone to benefit from it.
@fvates Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. I understand the difficulty, my team also has to work for the same topic of syncing data across device, especially when we don't have a separate account system and the orders are connected with the app store account.
Oh, this is exactly what I wanted. A nice, non-invasive reminder app where I can track my daily to-dos without them sitting in the notifications if I can't get to them immediately. I love having my notifications cleared because I can immediately get to handling an important notification if it comes. Simple reminders shouldn't sit on in the notifications for that reason.
Unfortunately, I'm on Android, any plan to create an Android app as well?
@leon_novacki Thanks for the great feedback!!
That was exactly the reason why i built this app. I was always annoyed by the recurring reminder notifications, i just kept on snoozing them forever.
Unfortunately there is currently no android app planned, but I talked to an android dev friend of mine. Maybe we'll find a way to collaborate :)
I snooze them because it is an issue of psychology not because of the medium for the reminder. Usually the activation energy to do the task is too high or there are a lot of unknowns for the task or there are prerequisites that need to be completed before the task can be completed but I don't know what they are or I haven't fleshed out the issue well enough.
@kingromstar Yeah, i totally get that. But with the widget you'll be constantly reminded about it and actually see how long it's already overdue, at some point the guilt just because too big for me and i have to do it. :D
Everyone is different though of course
I love it, Since I have started using focus mode I barely see any notifications but it’s really nice to see reminders as progress directly inside widgets. Great work 👏
@tanmaymakode Yep, for me it's also just a blur, that's why i often missed them because they are drowned in the flood of notifications! Thanks so much!
@ishan_dubey haha thanks. I guess it has to, seeing your community grow 😅
Out of curiosity, would it be enough for you if you couldn’t sync them between iOS and Android?
Congrats on the launch 🙌. I really like the idea of subtle reminders, no push notifications, no nagging to complete. It sits on home screen and just makes you aware of it. It also looks crazy good, how long it took you to design it 😀?
I love the idea behind Mindr because the app doesn't disturb you like others with notifications but, in a healthier way, gives you a clear understanding of when something should be accomplished. Curious to see the app grow over time.
Kudos to the developer for building in public on Twitter 👍
Great idea and nice design. I'm definitely going to give it a try 👍
Have you thought about offering specialized icon packs, such as those for maintaining coffee machines? System emojis aren't that expressive, and providing additional options would be greatly appreciated.
@romory Thanks for the great feedback and for trying it.
100% i will. This is my next feature I'll add.
For me it also doesn't cut it completely so i desperately need it.
Funny that you mention coffee maintanance. That was literally the reason why i made this app. The working title was even "CoffeeKit" 😅
But like you said, for backflushing and stuff like that, it's hard to find good emoji. You can also use a letter if it makes it clearer for you.
Mindr has been a game-changer for me when it comes to managing my tasks and reminders. The integration of reminders on my home screen is a genius concept that has significantly improved my productivity. No more endlessly snoozing notifications; with Mindr, I have a constant visual reminder of my due dates and tasks. The intuitive user interface makes it easy to stay organized, and it's become an essential part of my daily routine. I highly recommend Mindr to anyone looking for an innovative solution to keep their tasks on track.
Don't miss out on the launch special. For a limited time, the paywall features a nice little raffle where you can win a free lifetime code or discounts. https://twitter.com/i/status/170...
