I feel that more people would be excited, if Facebook didn't make a facebook account a requirement. It's understandable though since the specs are unbelievable for a stand alone VR device that's only $299. I would be surprised if they weren't taking a loss on hardware.

@kay0stheory they do let you have an Oculus account without connecting to Facebook so I have *some* hope that they might allow users to enjoy Oculus without linking a Facebook account in the future, most likely at the expense of some loss in functionality.

@gabe__perez Nope. You're either going to make a Facebook account or you are going to return it which is understandable. From a tech perspective, the price to power value is amazing though. There is nothing like this on the market
