Facebook News Bot — Simple way to subscribe to the latest Facebook news

I made this last week when Facebook announced its Jobs platform (This isn't an official Facebook bot) Simple enough, you can view the latest news from Facebook Business, Code, Messenger and Developer - you can also subscribe to 2/4 of them at the moment. Any like my other bots, I haven't made it text-input-savy, just tap the buttons it offers you. The RSS feed for Developer News doesnt seem to pull in any articles on the bot: https://developers.facebook.com/... - If anyone knows why this may be let me know. Also I cant find a RSS feed for Messenger so have just included the official blog Any other Facebook-News related RSS feeds you know of that I can add, let me know and I'll do that.

@bentossell Yeah my past few weekends have been battling with Wordpress, so making a bots seems like a way cooler option. Well, at least until the weather gets better over here in Berlin. Will deff try making one soon.

@mirmayne Its not a chat bot. tap the buttons it offers you - it's not done on text inputs. :)

@mirmayne ha thanks... honestly I dont think chatbots give a very good experience with text-inputs yet. I prefer the tap and go, lightweight-app feel.

Really simple and works great, could definitely see it useful for exploring all kinds of RSS. Would be awesome to maybe explore different ways to check out the RSS feed? Like Quartz did with their chat bot, to walk through the headline of each and pass/get more information. Would be awesome to have a 'custom version', so I could input an RSS feed and it'd set up for me and pull in the content automatically. Unsure about the Developer News, but looks like the RSS is formatted a little differently, may be parsing wrong as that item isn't on the other feeds?

@nicksmithr cheers Nick Hmm interesting. Maybe if lots of people use this or I can be bothered/have time (I don't), I will look into that. Yeah its to do with the formatting so messes up the pulling of info

Does this push notifications to you when the feeds are updated? How quickly, if so?

Looks pretty cool 👏👏 Are you planning to display news in chunks where RSS feeds aren't available? I'm working on a VR news app. I'm trying get the Facebook trending news to show up in it.
