Hey Product Hunt👋! We’re so excited to announce our new discounted pricing for startups, tailored to fit your needs. We know that as a startup, you’re juggling a lot of priorities: building your product, acquiring customers, etc. One thing that shouldn’t be on your list is building and maintaining product integrations. Merge takes that burden off you and your team. Merge is one API to add hundreds of integrations to your product. Instead of building and maintaining each integration, your developers integrate once to Merge’s Unified API to add an entire category of integrations to your product in just weeks. Merge currently offers over 200 HRIS, accounting, ticketing, CRM, ATS, file storage, and marketing automation integrations. Merge handles the full integrations lifecycle — from an easy initial build taking just weeks, to providing integration observability tools ensuring customer delight, and fully owning the maintenance of integrations. Hundreds of startups like Causal, Assembly, and Telescope trust Merge to power their product integrations at scale, enabling them to accelerate their time-to-market, cut engineering expenses, and acquire more customers. Learn more about Merge and our discounted plans by talking to one of our integration experts. Or watch a product demo from our co-founder! Thanks and let us know what you think! Irene

@irenexh So excited about this launch! In addition to start-up friendly pricing, love that it can accelerate time to market - every day counts when trying to cross the chasm to product-market fit!

What's the startup price?
Irene Hu
@jesseoue Hi Jesse - you can get started on Merge completely for free. In terms of the "startup price" - it's really dependent on your use case - what data fields you need synced and how often. You can talk to one of our integration experts to learn more and get tailored pricing based off your needs!

@irenexh Congratulations on the launch, super excited to see the Startup Pricing, finally a product that could save hundred of hours :) Thanks for buildig it, kudos to the team.

I just visited the Merge website and it was super comprehensive. Great job and congrats on your launch! Just do you also support external integrations? I didn't see anywhere about it.
Jonathan Gitlin
Thank you so much, @hosseinyazdi! Yes, we support a wide range of customer-facing integrations across a wide range of software categories. This includes ATS, HRIS, CRM, file storage, accounting, and ticketing. You can learn more about our integrations here: https://www.merge.dev/integrations Let me know if this helps!
Irene Hu
@hosseinyazdi Thanks so much Hossein!! Yes, we support over 200+ integrations!

I simply love the concept. Integrations are a pain in the a** for most SaaS businesses. They don't create any product differentiation and suck up a lot of resources in building and maintaining them. Testing a bunch of products, I think the biggest challenge in the space is to find the right balance between abstraction and flexibility. Some tools are very powerful, supporting most of the integration capabilities, but on the other side, they are too complex and don't really cut development costs enough. Other products excel in making everything simple but at the cost of very limited capabilities. Merge, in my opinion, is on the right path. Still... I find this launch very confusing. You're basically just launching an updated pricing for startups. But not disclosing it? The website shows no pricing, just a banner announcing Startups discounts, which redirects here were there's no info on these discounts. The only visible pricing on the website is $650 for 10 linked accounts... even assuming just 1 linked account per customer, that's 65$ per customer to support integrations. Given most self-serve SaaS are priced below $100/mo, that's way too expensive unless you're an enterprise focused startup. But regardless, why launch something you're not disclosing? :)
Irene Hu
@massimocw Thanks Massimo for the feedback! That's exactly why we started Merge is because so many SaaS companies realize building and maintaining integrations is super painful (and not a great use of your developers' time). The banner on the site is to drive people to participate in learning about the launch more on Product Hunt. The pricing you've identified is for self-serve which is a good way to start or try Merge out but the discounted pricing we're announcing today is much more tailored to your needs which can be discussed in detail once we hear about your specific use case -- such as what type of data you'll be syncing and how often! From that, our team can give a better pricing estimate and if you're a startup, provide a discount. Hope that helps!
Samad Ahmed
@massimocw @irenexh This is still not transparent unfortunately. So it gives me reason to believe that the pricing will not be as effective as it sounds. It would be better to mention a percentage for people to take action on the form. Companies such as Nango are less expensive ($250 / 20 connections) so is Merge's startup pricing close to this?
Irene Hu
@samad_from_chamoy Hi Samad, thanks for you feedback - we appreciate it and it's something for us to consider in the future! It's hard for us to give an exact percentage based off our pricing model and how specific it is to our customers' needs. We know that some of our competitors cite cheaper per linked account pricing as cheaper, but the reason is that their product typically is less robust with a smaller support team. We recommend talking to one of our integration experts to get a proper quote as we offer volume discounts.
Samad Ahmed
@irenexh I don't think it's a matter of robustness. Nango has quite an active community, open-sourced, and has an open-unified API. So they have built a product along with a great ecosystem surrounding it. I looked at other competitors as well such as Apideck which is $299 a month. Finch comes out to $250 a month (5 free + 5 at $50 each) for 10 connections. For nearly all startups it simply comes down to prioritizing cost-effective tooling. Even if I were to take a hypothetical whopping 50% off of Merge's pricing, it comes out $325 per 10 accounts. Which is still more expensive than the options I listed. Merge should reassure that the pricing comes down to an effective rate on the website so people can decide quickly, rather than scheduling demos/calls.
Alex Dulub
Hi Irene! Congratulations on launching your new startup-friendly pricing! It's great to see solutions like Merge that take the heavy lifting out of integrations for growing companies. The breadth of integrations offered is impressive – it must be a game-changer for startups aiming to scale quickly without the technical overhead. Curious to know, what has been the most common feedback from early adopters about Merge's impact on their product development cycle? Wishing you and the Merge team continued success! Best regards.
Irene Hu
@alex_dulub Thanks Alex for the comment and support! That's a great question -- we see that Merge really helps our customers speed up their product development cycle. One of our customers, 15Five, cited that Merge has "[allowed them] to both build multiple integrations with a single API and debug integration issues easily through Merge’s backend and support team. [They] can confidently say that our development cycle timelines for integration-related activities have been cut in half (if not more).” You can read more about it here: https://www.merge.dev/case-studi...

@alex_dulub Thank you for the kind words!! Appreciate the support. :)

This is actually brilliant! Building platform integration is such a time consuming endeavor. Have one product that eliminates integrating to multiple platforms would be great blessing!

Harrison Johnson
As someone who has spent a lot of time on product teams building integrations, Merge looks super useful! I feel like more and more tools today need integrations when companies have like 80+ tools in the techs stack. Btw shoutout for great marketing on the video "3 things startups get wrong about integrations" :)
Irene Hu
@harrisonjohnson Thanks Harrison! Really appreciate your comment! Yes, shoutout to our awesome marketer @anthony_lagana1 for putting that video together!!!

While I do see the use case for this product, I disagree with the pain points you’re advertising. The “Hard to access” and “Hard to build” makes me wonder if any developer really thinks this because popular integrations such as Quickbooks, for example is free and has instant signup access same with nearly all other popular integrations and integration takes at most 1 week if you’re slow and there is usually an API implementation specialist that those companies gladly provide you to assist with integration.
Irene Hu
@vashon_lorona_gonzales Hey Vashon! Thanks for the feedback and joining the discussion! Though there are some platforms where building an integrations is quite simple (such as Quckbooks!), when a SaaS company needs to build and scale out dozens of integrations, that's when challenges can appear with API documentation, needing partnerships, etc. A good example is NetSuite which is notoriously hard to build. Totally hear you on using an integration specialists for some, but not all companies provide them. Merge is really here to help any SaaS company that needs to build and maintain multiple integrations but don't want to dedicate time or resources to it!
Shensi Ding
@vashon_lorona_gonzales @irenex hi Vashon! To add to Irene’s point - the most time consuming part of integrations is often the maintenance, and we’ve found that Quickbooks is an exception with how open and dev friendly their ecosystem is!
Vashon Lorona Gonzales
@shensi I hope my comment didn’t come as an attack on the on the product itself. I do see the use case and to your point, I agree with you on the maintenance. My criticism was more towards how it’s being advertised (hard to access, hard to build) unless the platform has integrations with niche platforms like Marqeta which is hard to access and hard to build but I don’t think that’s the case. Maybe saying “difficult to maintain” would be better advertising if your target market is developers because that’s more relatable and speaks better to developers who understands that pain point.
Abraham Chen
Finally pricing for companies just starting. Exciting to see teams get a head start among competitors!

@irenexh Pretty cool product! Integrations feel quite painful to build for a start-up and it just doesn't seem to ever climb the ladder in the priority roadmap :\ This definitely takes off the burden for start-ups. Loved the idea.
Shensi Ding
@irenexh @harshjha0599 thank you for the kind words!!! Let us know if we can ever help with your integrations roadmap!
