Twitter cofounder Ev Williams is backing a new social network called Maven, which trades likes and follows for algorithms designed to foster serendipity and deep discussion.
This is an interesting concept. But what I do not like are this "dark mode" it is extremely hard for me to read the text content and as I can see there is no option to turn into light mode. I think this platform will end up like threads of Meta, in the beginning the platform gets some testers and over time there is no activity.
I love the concept, But I'm not in love with the UI.
Something is missing between conversation breaks, and there is so much blank space between the headline and the first reply that it's unnatural to read.

We created this 6 years ago a social network of action on similar insights. I wish India had heard us. But, instead, India tried to herd us. We are decided to not give up. Yet, we never managed invetment and lost the team for so many rejections. Now the team is back.
I love the proposition - 'interests, not influencers'.
It will be interesting to see where this sits alongside Reddit. Presumably, the value is in starting a discussion, and those who'll be interested in it wouldn't have had to join a particular group. It'll just be presented to them.
I like the concept, but the design is confusing and hard to read.
First, if you're going to provide a dark mode, please provide a light mode. There's a reason that writing for most of history has been black text on a white background. Dark mode is hard for some of us to read, especially with the design you've chosen.
Second, the design is extremely confusing. It's not quickly obvious where one post ends and the next one starts. Putting recommended other posts before the comments makes no sense.
Overall, I just don't see this taking off. It looks like it's been live for 6+ months and topics that have a bunch of traction on other platforms have few to no posts here. But the usability is the biggest barrier.
Just signed up and woah!!
Maven looks apart from the rest of the platform.
Trying to understand how would relevant content be filtered for me to view?
I am based in India, and American football is irrelevant to us.
Is this hosted on web3?
Curious to know.
Happy launching and good luck!
