Hi, everyone! My name is Matthew Anderson, VP of Product at Marshal and Onehub. We were thrilled and humbled by the Product Hunt response to our initial Beta back in March. Since then Marshal has scanned nearly 2 million files, and discovered over 9 million pieces of sensitive information! During that time, we also received a ton of challenging, constructive feedback on both the user experience and privacy concerns. Thank you! We spent the last few months improving the service while evolving Marshal’s technology to solidify our security/privacy goals. With Product Hunt’s blessing, we’re re-posting Marshal on PH. The core of Marshal remains the same. Once authorized, Marshal scans Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Onehub for the threat type(s) you request. If Marshal finds anything you’ll get a secure, sanitized report outlining the file it was found in, some contextual metadata to help you find it (page, surrounding text, etc.), and whether or not that file is still shared with anyone. Here is what’s new: ACCURACY/STABILITY Marshal is now faster, more accurate, and more reliable. We support new file types and can locate any supported file type within nested ZIP files. USABILITY We added filtering so that you can easily scope your report to the exact service(s) and threat(s) you want to review. PRIVACY Marshal now scans your services without ever storing a temporary copy to disk. We scan the encrypted connection to your services on-the-fly and extract only redacted versions of what we find for easier identification. Everything else is never stored anywhere in our system at any time. You can read more about this feature on our blog. https://blog.marshal.io/marshal-... We're working hard to build a secure, fast, and free way to empower everyone to make smarter decisions regarding data stored in the cloud. As we continue working towards release we would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and yes, your security/privacy concerns. We’ll be checking back to address any comments or you can send us feedback any time via support@marshal.io.
