It's great to see other products that put people first and in control of their experience online. I believe this is a trend that we will continue to see unfold going forward. I hope that Twitter continues to allow developers to build products like this, although I can also see them removing API access if it significantly limits their impressions, reach, or engagement. Great work!

@torbahax thank you lot! We are really glad that you liked it! Also, don't worry, we don't use twitter API at this point. We used it before for training our algorithm, but now it is independent of their API.

Haha great product name 😄

Hi, Product Hunters! We are pleased to show you our chrome extension that blocks tweets about U.S. 2016 elections. Looking forward for your feedbacks!
Michal Hudeček
Great job! Is it possible to set what text will be shown instead of original tweets? I mean how to change: "This text is about US election 2016" to something else.
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@michalhudecek sadly, it is not available right now :( But we will think what we can do about it!

On behalf of my fellow citizens of the world, I thank you @idarbek - now when may we expect a spin-off that blocks Twitter Promoted Posts?
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@osakasaul well, there definitely will be a spin-off that will block certain content, but it will remain secret till publishing ;)
Ernest Oppetit
Oh come on! The future of the world is at stake here... (strong name though)
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@ernopp thanks! We understand that it is really important issue, but at some point it may be really annoying for many people.

@ernopp I doubt anything good will come out of the election. We know Trump and we all know what Hillary did to Middle East, so.. @idarbek great product for the rest of the world. Any plans on publishing for Firefox?
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@sekodev @ernopp thank you for feedback! Actually, we are not familiar with creating Firefox extensions, so by the time when we will do it elections will be over :(
Margaret McGraw
This works a lot like the Kardashian blocker. Nice job!
Margaret McGraw
I love twitter but the election rants are too much, get out and vote but don't use 140 character rants to make up your mind.
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@love2golf totally agree! Most of the tweets about politics are not informative at all and don't help in making decision. That is why we created this extension :)
Nick Huggins
This is great! Is the a similar chrome extension for Facebook?
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@nickstravelbug thank you! Actually, yes, there is such extension for facebook: https://www.producthunt.com/tech... Frankly saying, this extension inspired us ;)
Ian
This appeals because I'm one of the millions often assumed to be in the U.S just because I speak English, but ignorance of politics enables those ruling over you to get away with even more.
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@ianmayman thank you! Yes, politics should not be totally ignored and we don't discourage people to vote. But sometimes politics appear where you didn't expect them to be and it just really annoys most of the people. What we wanted to do is to give people an option to hide it and make their experience in twitter better.

“Ostrich” would be an appropriate name.
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@core haha, well, we didn't think about this :)
O O
As a non-american, I was thinking of quitting Twitter before seeing this...
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@sandrojazzar wow! We are really, really happy that helped you, thank you for your feedback!
Sarim Haq
Haha, great product! Curious to know how you are using Artificial Intelligence...
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@sarim_haq well, that is not a secret! I can send you direct message in Twitter, if you want
Sarim Haq
@idarbek thanks. That would be great! I am always excited about new applications of A.I. My twitter handle - https://twitter.com/caspyapp
Anthony Stylianou
Obvious question, but does the extension actually block the tweets or do the tweets still appear with text warning you that it is about the election?
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@anthony_stylianou it replaces the content of the tweet with warning message that this tweet contains information about election. As we use machine learning approach for this task, there are can be possible errors. That is why you can always view the content of the hidden tweet by just clicking on it.
J. Alexander Curtis
Upvote just because of the creative name 😉
Jordan Sztern
Haha. Amazing name!
Josh Levine
Hmmm... sort of the exact opposite of https://www.producthunt.com/tech... ! Looks like the polarization of the American electorate is well reflected in the polarization of the Product Hunt lineup!
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@josh_levine hahaha fun project! But I suppose that there are already too much of Trump even without this product :D
Josh Levine
@idarbek There can *NEVER* be too much trump!
Elizabeth
Now THIS is a Make Blank Great Again campaign I can get behind! #IgnoranceIsBliss @HandleByte
Sloane Ortel
Awesome idea -- why not put in a random fact instead of something about the election? Would play right into what made twitter great in the first place....
Aidarbek Suleimenov
@willortel thanks! I am afraid that it would cause a little misunderstanding. For example, I don't think that you would like to read how Hillary Clinton writes facts about dolphins :)
Sloane Ortel
@idarbek Haha -- oh yeah, could definitely see that popping up :) great work in any case!
Robert Simoes
Brilliant. Had such a great laugh at this!
