I've been into sports since I was 4 years old. I've competed in lots of sports throughout the years, but the one where I learnt my life-long lessons was Track and Field. A sport where 99% of the work is done in the shadows and most of it - alone. We all set goals for ourselves. Some more realistic, some are only a dream. Even though I've failed a lot, when I didn't - there was always a same pattern that guided me to my goal. Same things I was doing that brought me success. The pattern was: 1. Plan everything - the more details you get in, the better. 2. Identify your mistakes, some of them aren't visible. Don't repeat them. Learn from them. 3. Track results. Improvement does not involve luck. 4. If possible - have a mentor. Even though it seems so clear, sometimes it takes months and years to get to our goals. It is very easy to get lost. To forget your mistakes and repeat them. To forget your goals and plans you set up. This is a problem I am trying to fix. Selfletter is an AI assistant that helps you plan. The more you elaborate on a goal and specify your needs - the more accurate it'll be. Write paragraphs, think about everything, weekdays you can work on, the hours you're free. It'll help you accordingly. Then, you can export it either to your calendar or signup for a newsletter that'll remind you of your tasks everyday. It'll send you tasks you've set for yourself, reminders and mistakes you don't want to forget and other tips as well. It is mainly a way to stay organized and focused, as these are super important to goal-achieving. I am very open to conversation and happy to improve. I would like for you to tell me what you think about the product, Is the AI fine-tuned enough? what there's to fix? What's good and what's bad? Would you try it?

If you're into goal setting and productivity, Selfletter is a must-try! The way it breaks down tasks and reminds you of your mistakes is super helpful. Also love the idea of exporting to a calendar and the daily email reminders. Keep it up, this is such a cool tool!

Kudos for your effort, great website, few questions here: 1. What kind of AI is being used in the backend? 2. How is this different from other AI applications which create goals etc. Thanks :)

@krishyadav007 Thank you! I played a bit with huggingface, figured out it'll be expensive to run, will take lot of time to train and overall will be an overkill for this project. Right now the project uses o4-mini, the fastest OpenAI model. I fine-tuned it a little. About other sites - I didn't see sites that generate calendars, not the way that this site do at least. The fast calendar integration to your workflow and the signing up for newsletter are unique features as well. I am looking for making the site more unique, more specific and more usable. At the end of the day, the plan it'll prompt out won't necessarily become what you do exactly but, for example, if you have no idea how to plan a trip in distant unkown places - "Generate a month long trip in a safe wilderness area in Alaska" would be a great way to start. The more specific your goal is the more you can't find about it in the web - the more useful my site will be to you.

Congrats on your launch! Love the newsletter feature, will try it now πŸ‘€ Do you plan launching an app? I just launched an app with similar concept (not on PH yet), maybe we can team up!
Ilan Yashuk
@elenb Hey, would love to see what you're working on, can I look it out somewhere? What does your app do?

Interesting concept combining AI-powered planning with goal achievement! I also believe that focus on breaking tasks down and learning from mistakes is an effective method on self improvement. I'm interested in what the AI's role in task planning and how personalized the mentorship aspect would be. The calendar export feature could be handy for integration with existing workflows. Good job!

@zezero00 Thanks for you detailed comment! Sometimes we want to achieve goals we know nothing about. Sometimes our goals are so specific that there isn't really anything in the web about it. Selfletter is best for such cases, it'll get you going from zero when you have no idea what to do. It'll give you some ideas on how to start.

Hey everyone! Just added exporting to pdf feature for $1.00 if anyone's interested. It is now a matter of less than a minute - to have a full goal-oriented scheduled calendar about a goal you know nothing about! Getting started never been easier :)

Hey Ilan, How granular does it get with the daily tasks? I'm curious, does it have any features to help users stay accountable or track their progress over time? Congrats on the launch!
Ilan Yashuk
@kyrylosilin Hey, I get what you're saying about progress tracking and having the user committed. This is important. Right now, the most the site can offer is its newsletter which sends a mail to a signed-up user every day. Maybe in the future it'll get better. It can get very granular; you can specify the number of tasks per day and the level of details you want it to get in. It can get super detailed and have you do 10 tasks per day and it can be pretty chill if you won't share lots of details. The default is about 3-5 tasks per day and 1-2 sentences per task if you won't prompt special requests.
