A hacky but simple way to add more advanced and custom functionality to the Meta Rayban glasses! It works by installing "Mai" a browser extension for Facebook Messenger that allows for the monitoring and responding to chat messages and images. - Create an alt facebook account - Follow the steps in the readme to trick the glasses to identify custom names with Hey Meta send a message to ____ (ChatGPT, Perplexity etc) - Set any API keys in the extension - Start monitoring Chat - Any new message received will then be processed by the extension depending on the config Want alternative model support? Simply submit a PR to the opensource repo! Thanks : )

Awesome!! This is what hacking is all about.

Xiaomi also launched their AI glasses yesterday. I guess it's much harder to hack them with this method, because they probably don't have a feature like Facebook Messenger?

@zaczuo Thanks for the support! Oh nice, do you know the price range for them?
I lost/got my Meta glasses stolen and haven't replaced them yet, but I miss them so much!

I'm unsure of any integrations they have but if they integrate with WeChat it might be possible.
Might be even better if their voice commands can talk to mini programs - would limit it to only certain LLMs though

@dcrebbin It seems to be around 280~420 USD for different versions. And yeah WeChat is definitely the entry point for a hack like that.

@zaczuo I'm near Shenzhen at the moment, so might consider getting them!
