Love loom, brilliant. Some feedback: I’m getting an error saying Memory Limit Exceeded, when I try to screen record but I have about 4gb of space. Is there a minimum on the free space required to record?
@andhugg Hi Andrew! There is no minimum free space requirement. The error you're seeing is caused by Apple's screen recording APIs, and we're working on asking them to fix it and identify workarounds. In our testing, this error tends to surface when switching between apps or at the very start of a screen recording. One potential workaround is to start your loom screen recording using what we call the "control center method" from the app you wish to record. I've created a loom to show you how here:

@luis_ramirez Hey Luis, thank for the great reply. Unfortunately I can't get it to work for me. When I add the screen recorder to the home screen and tap it, I get a countdown from 3 to 1, then it starts recording using the iphone default screen recorder with no audio. If I tap again it stop the recording, no option for loom. I know you guys will iron out the bugs and I'll be a loyal user when you do!
@andhugg sorry, I forgot to mention one thing in the loom I sent you! You have to long-press on the control center screen recording button to bring up the option to record with loom :) once you do that, make sure to turn on your mic before you start the recording and that should work for you. Fair warning, I may be a bit biased ;)
I believe raw video based communication from my iPhone has allowed me to connect with people at work in a materially different way. It helps me communicate faster because mobile keyboards still leave a lot to be desired for long form messaging. It also helps me communicate in a richer, more expressive way than plain text messages from mobile typically do. There's something more immediately natural about recording a loom from my phone as that's where most of us learned to be video creators/recorders in the first place.
Some specific use cases I've found to be consistently powerful:
1) In transit to or from work / meeting. While this use case has gone down quite a bit with shelter in place, I consistently record a meeting summary for the loom team or quick thank you loom to the individual/team I just met with.
2) Culture and relationship building looms where you show a side of your life that normally you don't at work. Home / apartment tours for the teammates. Looms of your children / furry friends you want to share with coworkers. A quick loom of you doing your favorite hobby like cooking / gardening. All these are very real looms that have been sent via Loom mobile with the loom team.
3) Screenrecording has a couple key use cases for me: (i) bugs I see in mobile apps, something our own :] (ii) walking through spreadsheets/slides/docs while I am out and about and someone needs a quick answer.
We're just getting started on the mobile front and believe video messaging is going to change the way people communicate at work. With more and more time spent on mobile screens and richer ways to communicate with each other, we hope to make your on-the-go communication more efficient and expressive. Happy looming all.

I tried using this while I was doing Q/A for one of our apps and unfortunately I'm a bit disappointed. Reason being, I'm unable to use my voice to explain to my engineers the bugs like I would for the web product. I hope you guys figure out a work around because I don't see this being useful if I'm unable to capture my voice.
@masoudardestani hi Masoud! You definitely should be able to record your voice over the screen recordings. When you open the screen recording UI just make sure the microphone button is red before starting a recording. Loom has been a game changer for my startup as we work remotely during COVID. We’ve completely flipped our meeting times to pre-record presentations and use our zoom call time for discussion. Love your product and excited to try the iOS app!
