Store digital assets, passwords, and account recovery codes in a secure offline vault. Distribute up to 20 keys so that you can benefit from social recovery in emergencies. Kosign is free open source software designed to run on your offline computer.

I needed a succession plan for my digital assets. A way to make sure my crypto would be accessible by my kid in case of emergency. Since he is only two years old, I couldn't just hand him my seed phrase and expect that he keep it for 20 years. Giving it to his mother was also not an option, not only because she doesn't have the cybersecurity training necessary to store a key securely, but perhaps more importantly, considering we divorced, she might take the wallet all for herself! This is why I gave her a copy of my Kosign vault: a piece of paper which contains my seed phrase, but encrypted with a strong key. I also gave her a list 10 friends which each have a unique key. They are instructed to cooperate with her in case of an emergency. She or my son will need 4 out of 10 of my friends to agree to unlock the vault. But you don't have to be divorced or in a sticky situation to enjoy Kosign :) You can use Kosign to create a social recovery vault for your hardware wallet's seed phrase, master passwords, 2FA backups, and other critical data which is otherwise tricky to store!
