Hey folks 👋

I’m excited to launch Kodex — an AI-powered drag & drop CMS that lets brands craft realistic 3D product stories by pulling back the curtain on their backend processes, without any green-wash, via simple embedded screens on your site or QR codes on your physical product labels.

Why we built it⚙️:

We saw brands stuck between static PDFs, stale blog posts, or expensive dev work just to show what really happens behind the scenes. Attention craters, engagement stalls, and the story never gets told.

What we built☘️:

Kodex lets you assemble stories of social and visual proof in minutes.

  • Immersive 3D canvas: Drag in your models, footage or data points

  • Zero engineering: No dev time, no agency fees, no file-size headaches

  • Easy embeds & QR: Publish everywhere - both physical and digital

Why it’s different💫:

  • Show, don’t tell: True transparency comes from a peek behind the scenes

  • Built-in UGC: Every viewer can tap to share their favourite “step” on socials—auto-tagging your brand and driving word-of-mouth

  • Scale in hours: Beta partners spun up 3D narratives for 100 SKUs in under a day and saw on-page engagement jump 30%

What I’m most proud of is how Kodex makes transparency marketable: brands don’t just claim honesty—they demonstrate it as a social proof for their customers.

Why the name Kodex?

"Our name riffs on the ancient “codex” — manuscripts or official ledgers inscribed on wood or parchment to guarantee authenticity (think original pharmacopeias or chemical registries). Likewise, Kodex serves as the modern ledger for product transparency, giving brands an authoritative platform to showcase what really goes on behind the scenes."

We’d love to hear what you think about Kodex. Please take it for a test drive 🎉.

Question for you: If you could reveal just one hidden detail about a product you love, what would it be—and why?

Thanks a million for your time 🙏,

Siddhartha

@naderikladious Thanks so much, Nader! 🙌

We’re super excited about how interactive storytelling can change the game for products, so your kind words mean a lot!

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@naderikladious Thank you! We really appreciate your support! We’re excited to see which product story you’d bring to life first. Let us know your thoughts or any ideas on how we can make Kodex even more engaging!🚀

Lucas Edwards

This feels like the future of product marketing. How quickly can someone launch a site?

Dhritiman Talukdar

@lucas_edwards1 Using our AI content curator, enter your brand summary and product/brand website(s); your website is ready within 1 minute. Optionally edit it, save it, preview it and publish it.
Hence we can say 2Âą0.5 minutes.

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@lucas_edwards1 Haha hope so! Thanks for the boost. Since we’re still in early beta so our timing estimates come from what a handful of testers have shared, so take this as a rough guide:

  1. Install & Setup (2-3 mins): Install the Kodex app and connect your store.

  2. Content Crawl & Draft (4-8 mins): Paste your link(s) and summary; our AI pulls assets and spins up a draft story.

  3. Review & Publish (5-15 mins): Tweak your SEO metadata, brand colors/fonts, then publish the story. Mapping time for products depend on the volume, but we tried adding upto 30 products from the drop down menu in under a minute.

For a simple story, you can go live under 10 minutes. But giving yourself 15–30 minutes lets you polish and go fully live. As we iterate on feedback, we expect these steps to get even faster. Let me know if you'd prefer a live walkthrough.

🚀 Thrilled to launch Kodex today!

Kodex is a no-code platform that lets brands build immersive, interactive storytelling layers on top of their products, processes, and provenance. Think of it as a dynamic microsite builder—built for transparency, traceability, and brand depth.

🔧 Under the hood:

  • Modular architecture for customizable layouts

  • Visual editor powered by WebGL + React

  • Interactive components like clickable hotspots, timelines, and 360° views

  • Structured storytelling—every element is backed by real data (e.g., sourcing, supply chain, materials)

  • Analytics integration to track story engagement

We built Kodex for forward-thinking DTC brands, marketplaces, and manufacturers who want to replace generic “About Us” pages with rich, proof-backed experiences.

Massive thanks to the team and early users who pushed us to ship this. Excited to hear your feedback, ideas, and use cases! 🙌

@Products @Businesses

Let’s be real. Have you ever felt that online shopping is too flat? A product page filled with static photos doesn’t connect with people. We wanted to fix that.

Meet Kodex – our no-code tool that brings Shopify products to life with 360° storytelling. No coding. No pricey developers. Just immersive, interactive experiences that make customers stop scrolling and start feeling the product.

We built Kodex for:

Brands that want to stand out (not blend in).

Marketers tired of cookie-cutter product pages.

Dreamers who want to tell a story, not just upload a photo.

We’ve just launched on Product Hunt TODAY!

Do me a favor — imagine your favorite product. Now imagine experiencing it in 360°. What would that look like? Tell me below, I’m curious!

Nathaniel Cook

I love the idea of using microsites to give customers a peek behind the curtain. How flexible are the layouts? Can brands keep a consistent visual identity across different microsites?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@nathaniel_cook2 Right now, every Kodex microsite uses a clean, performance-optimized template to ensure fast load times and a seamless experience. Here’s how brand consistency works today—and what’s coming soon:

  1. Shared Layout Framework

All stories live in the same “360 media supported carousel” structure (which can be structured to form a narrative around the product's back story/journey), so navigation and interaction stay predictable for your customers.

  2. Customizable Brand Elements

You can apply your own fonts (Poppins, Poppins Bold, etc.), color palette (Aquatic Green, Black, Grey), and logo across every microsite.

  3. Consistent Button & Card Styles

We lock down button shapes, card backgrounds, and spacing to guarantee readability and accessibility everywhere.

  4. Unified Experience

Because every microsite shares the same template, your visual identity remains rock-solid from one product story to the next.

  5. Roadmap: Layout Variations

We’re working on multiple template options (grid, full-screen, split-view) so you can choose different layouts while keeping fonts, colors, and logos consistent. That flexibility goes live in the next quarter.

Sadie Scott

How does the AI decide which content or structure to highlight for a product? Is it completely automatic, or can users provide guidance with prompts?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@sadie_scott Right now, the AI story builder is fully automatic. There’s no prompt interface yet (though that’s our next immediate priority). Here’s how it works today:

  1. Your Inputs

1000-character summary of your brand or product

One or more URLs to crawl

  2. Automated Crawl & Extraction

We pull in images, headings, key copy and metadata from those links

    Assets are tagged by type

  3. SEO-First Story Assembly

An internal ranking algorithm scores each asset and text snippet for search relevance and user engagement

Content is slotted into our structure by default and optimized for both SEO and AEO

  4. Built-In SEO Metadata

For every story we auto-generate a meta title, meta description, and keyword set

You can tweak these fields in the dashboard once your story is live

  5. Future Prompt Interface

We’re building a prompt box so you’ll soon be able to guide the AI directly (“Focus more on sustainability,” etc..)

That’s our first feature in the PR queue. Once we validate demand, it’ll go live

Hina Siddiqui

I love the concept. Does this work with e commerce platforms like Shopify or Webflow?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@hina_siddiqui Thanks so much! Right now, Kodex is fully integrated with Shopify. So you can start embedding 3D stories on your product pages today. Webflow support isn’t available just yet, but it’s high on our roadmap. We’ll keep you posted as soon as it’s ready!

Ezra Leo

Giving customers a peek behind the scenes is such a great idea. Does it come with analytics or heatmaps?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@ezra_leo2 Absolutely! Kodex comes with a built-in engagement dashboard so you can see exactly how people interact with your stories. You’ll get metrics like story views, hotspot clicks, and a heatmap overlay on your site canvas so you can visually spot which areas grabbed attention. Everything’s exportable as CSV. Moreover, a unique QR code is generated per product when mapped to each story, which you can download and apply across your print materials to track offline engagement too!

Dhritiman Talukdar

@ezra_leo2 yes.. it does.. come.. check it out!!

Vera Adams

This is absolutely brilliant. Can I link products straight to checkout or do I have to embed them manually?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@vera_adams1 You absolutely can send people straight to checkout from your story window. Please follow these steps:

  1. Start your story builder as usual

  2. Add a button element to the bottom drawer section

  3. Paste in your product’s checkout URL

  4. Publish your story

  5. Only published, embed on product pages by mapping your products from the drop-down list on the story card

Once that story’s live, any tap on your CTA takes visitors directly to the checkout page. Let me know if you’d like a quick walkthrough!

Dhritiman Talukdar

@vera_adams1 This is an idea we have been asking around for market fit.. check this out..

Liam Ward

Microsites often come with SEO challenges. How do you make sure these interactive pages stay discoverable and perform well across different devices and search engines?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@liam_ward2 You’re spot on. Microsites can be SEO hurdles if you don’t plan for indexing and performance.

Here’s how we trying to tackle it with Kodex👇

  1. Server-Rendered Snapshots & Meta Tags

Each story page is pre-rendered with full HTML (title, description, Open Graph tags) so search-bots see real content, not just a blank canvas waiting on JavaScript.

  2. Progressive Enhancement & Fallbacks

On older devices or when WebGL isn’t available, visitors (and bots) see a static hero image plus your story text—ensuring every page is crawlable and mobile-friendly.

  3. Asset Optimization & Lazy Loading

3D models and textures are compressed and loaded on-demand. Scripts are deferred, critical CSS is inlined, and images are served via a CDN, keeping Lighthouse scores high across desktop and mobile..

Work in progress⚙️

  1. Canonical URLs & Link Equity

Every story lives under its own subpath or custom domain (you control the URL), so SEO juice isn’t diluted and internal links from your main site pass authority directly to each interactive page.

  2. JSON-LD Schema & Sitemaps

We automatically inject structured data (Product, FAQ, Breadcrumb) and update your site’s XML sitemap with every new story, so Google knows exactly what you’ve published.

Eager to know what you think of it!

Dhritiman Talukdar

@liam_ward2 We have configurable SEO content. Our AI curator also fills it up for you.

Scytalelabs marketing

This is fantastic for DTC brands and creators alike. Is there any integration with Shopify or Webflow?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@scytalelabs_marketing Thanks so much! Right now, Kodex is fully integrated with Shopify. You can start embedding 360 stories on your product pages today. Webflow support isn’t available just yet, but it’s high on our roadmap. We’ll keep you posted as soon as it’s ready!

Dhritiman Talukdar

@scytalelabs_marketing Yes.. With Shopify..

Feel free to it out

Ethan Lennon

It is amazing. Is it possible to host the microsites on a custom domain?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@ethan_lennon glad you bought it up! We are working on it, should be ready in couple of weeks.
That way, Kodex microsites can live on your own domain. In your dashboard you can add any custom hostname (e.g. stories.yourbrand.com), then point a CNAME record in your DNS to our hosting endpoint.

Dhritiman Talukdar

@ethan_lennon yes definitely.

Hazel Joy

I love how interactive micro sites can really enhance trust and drive conversions. How flexible are the design options?

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@hazel_joy Thanks for asking. Right now, you have full control over fonts and text colors to match your brand. Layouts and button styles are kept consistent out of the box to ensure clarity and reliability, but expanding those design options is on our roadmap. I’d love to hear which specific layout or button customizations you’re looking for so we can prioritize them!

Dhritiman Talukdar

@hazel_joy We have customizable brand fonts and brand colors. Have to make it more flexible both font and color wise in some places.. Thanks..

Abigail Martinez

What a fantastic concept. The interactive aspect seems like a perfect way to blend storytelling with conversion. Do you allow for embedding multimedia content like videos or interactive 3D models?

Dhritiman Talukdar

@abigail_martinez1 Yes.. options in the main content are:

2d images
2d videos
360 panoramic images
360 panoramic videos

Siddhartha Sagar Bora

@abigail_martinez1  Thank you so much! Right now Kodex supports 360° images and videos (equirectangular JPEG/PNG or MP4), not native 3D model files. You can:

  1. Upload your 360° panoramas into the drag-and-drop canvas

  2. Add info-icon hotspots directly on the 360 view which floats perfectly in it's place within each sphere, even while users are rotating their view

  3. Map hotspots to related products for cross-sell/up-sell

  4. Use the bottom-drawer overlay to insert video clips or richer 2D content

This gives you a fully interactive “look-around” experience without needing 3D exports. We’re working on true 3D-model support. Happy to share timelines if you’d like... 😀
