Howdy Product Hunt! 👋 Why? Dashboards often leave me feeling scattered and frustrated, regardless how coherent designs might be. Navigating through your website or dashboard should feel facile, free of superfluous elements. As more applications are built, more dashboards are designed, and a major consideration becomes how users navigate these complex environments efficiently. Command menus work as a power tool, and lead to higher feature discoverability. This was the perfect solution to this problem, so I built a library that tried tries be the best at this particular niche. What? We've all felt that one perfect UI interaction on an application that was memorable because it just felt so damn good to use. This library, while being accessible, is also fully animated and feels awesome to use. I also tend to dislike proprietary libraries just as much as the next person, so this is entirely free and open-source with the MIT license. How? This library presents all parts of your dashboard in a structured, concise, and coherent manner. Users can search these commands, and you the developer can add keywords to assist them. You can even add shortcuts as a more intuitive way for frequent users to navigate around quicker. The second version of kmenu aims to further enhance this.
