Angstrom is different from other task or project management tools because it puts your life goals at the center of everything. Once you've decided what is important in your life. It will help you dominate those goals!

This is very good. I've been annoyed by all collaboration features when looking at any management tool. I like this product that introduces zero collaboration as a concept. And it is a good insight that it'd be enabled to integrate user's career parts and personal parts because it has eliminated the collaboration part, and the attempt to actively use the insight is also impressive. One thing I am sorry about is pricing. Is not there a monthly payment in the plan? (I ask because I have no money.)
Kelvin Angstrom
@sungho Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Really appreciate it. My initial heading on the website was "Absolutely zero collaboration project management" because I did think that it was a strong differentiator and not having collaboration can be a plus in some circumstances. You won't ever fear that you might accidentally share your private life goals. Did you have a look at the Ambassador plan? You can get all the features for free if you share with others.
Paul Danyliuk
@sungho @kelvinangstrom Yeah, and I dissuaded you from using that value prop, lol. I thought that one was pretty unclear for understanding what the product was about at a glance. Maybe it was a wrong call?
Jacques van Heerden
This might be better than all my notebook tracking I've been doing and the added functions of Trello. Congrats on the launch, tell me about your data security angle?
Kelvin Angstrom
@jacquesvh Thanks so much! Glad you like it. All your data is secured by Google Firebase. Ping me an email at kelvin@angstrom.life and I'll go into as much detail as you would like.
Lola Hayes
Hey @kelvinangstrom Wanted to submit this through the website, but nothing happens when I click on the Support button. I started a 60 minute timer today to work on a project and after 60 minutes I went back to the angstrom tab and it said I still had 24 minutes left. What do you think could be causing this?
Kelvin Angstrom
@lolatesla Hi Lola! Very sorry about that. Could you send me an email to kelvin@angstrom.life? I need to ask you a few questions about your setup.
Paul Danyliuk
As a solo maker who knows the pain and angst of indie hacking too darn well, I'd really love to give it a try. But I cannot imagine the burden of having to import everything from Trello etc by hand. Do you have any sort of integrations/import/export in mind?
Kelvin Angstrom
@paul_danyliuk Hey Paul, I'll have a look into Trello import. I can't see it being a huge amount of work. I would like to have a few people ask for that feature first though before spending too much time on it.
Krzesimir
Quick question: on the landing page there is an information about 60% discount. Are the prices already discounted when I log in?
Kelvin Angstrom
@krzesimir_ostrowski No they're not discounted when you login. There's a discount code at the top of the pricing page when you login. You apply that code during the checkout. Actually, here's the code if it's easier: "ProductHunt60"
Kelvin Angstrom
@krzesimir_ostrowski BTW. If you have already paid and didn't see the discount code for whatever reason, I'll happily refund the difference.
Krzesimir
@kelvinangstrom thanks a lot for clearing this up! I might be doing something wrong, but I don't see this code anywhere in the pricing page or anywhere else in the settings.
Kelvin Angstrom
@krzesimir_ostrowski Very sorry about that. I can't see a problem in general. I just checked and everyone that has purchased today has used the code. I will monitor it and proactively refund the difference to anyone that has the same problem as yourself.

Hello Friends! Angstrom is a passion project for me. When I started building it, I was trying to design a system to solve my own failings as a person. To help me be more effective in my own life. As it progressed it actually got good (IMO). So I decided that I would make it into a solid product. Many evening and weekends have been poured into it. I'm a one-man band. So naturally the product turned out to be for people like me. It's for your personal use, not for your team. A few people that have used it, compare it to a Monday.com for individuals. Monday.com is an amazing product so I can't but be flattered by the comparison. I already have paying customers, which blows my mind. I have to thank the indiehackers.com community for their support / guidance and for being my first customers! More than anything, what I really want from this launch on Product Hunt is feedback. I want to make Angstrom into a great product and the only way to do that is if I get independent critical feedback. Please don't hesitate to ask my anything! Thank you so much! Kelvin
Vladimir Oane
@kelvinangstrom Looks great. I'll take it out for a spin. Congrats for the release. When are the apps expected on mobile?
Kelvin Angstrom
@vladimiroane Thanks Vladimir! Please do. It's a huge relief to release it. At the moment it's a PWA so you can add it to your home screen and it will act like an app. Once I understand what people would really like in the mobile version I'll start on them. I'm looking forward to doing that. I've started on the desktop apps. Windows, Mac and Linux. I'm using the Mac one myself at the moment but there is still quite a bit of work to do.

@kelvinangstrom in the verbiage for the lifetime account, the second line reads "Access to all current functionality". Is this implying that any updates or roadmap items are not going to be available to early adopters on the lifetime plan? That would be an odd and disappointing tactic for a newly launching SAAS. Absolutely loved the onboarding btw.
Marco Valli
@kelvinangstrom Looks like a nice product, even more as it is a solo project...I'm definitely boarding in...can you please explain the "Access to all current functionality" line in the lifetime plan? Sorry, but...it scares me a lot!
Miguel Alejandro Morales

I think that this app brings to the table a very different alternative in the task management sector, focusing on those who work alone and don't want to get distracted by team-driven features as it happens with tools like Asana and even Trello.

Pros:

Tackles struggles that solopreneurs know well; allows keeping track of the bigger picture through goals; the onboarding bot is genius.

Cons:

Nothing so far.

Sam
I gotta say, I love this and would absolutely love to try it out, but it's quite expensive and the free trial doesn't offer much. I'm not sure if the users will be convinced by the minimal features that are included in the free trial. Nonetheless I'm definitely going to try it out soon. Nice work Kelvin!
Kelvin Angstrom
@recon Thanks for the feedback Sam! There is a balance to be struck there with how much functionality to have in the free plan. I honestly don't know where the line should be yet. What I did do though to somewhat address the cost was to add the "Ambassador plan". Did you see that? Basically you can get all features for free if you can get some friends to signup. Your friends all get a $10 discount if they decide to purchase for themselves.
Sam
@kelvinangstrom Oh I didn't realise it was just on signup, it seemed to me like they all had to purchase a plan. I'll definitely get some mates to join up while I'm having a look 👀. On the other hand, I agree, balancing a free accounts features is difficult, but for such a feature rich app like this I'd definitely add some of the more basic things to the plan, and possibly restrict some features (only so many habits can be done, routine can only be this long, etc). Best of luck on the indiehacker path!
Kelvin Angstrom
@recon Thanks Sam! I'll try and figure out how to clear up that confusion around the Ambassador plan. I'm sure there's a way.
Paul
This is really cool! I’ve been looking for something that helps organize this type of data. I really like the default hierarchy, it will help people get started quickly especially if they haven’t planned their life out like this before. It would be cool if it had integrations with apps like RescueTime and others that make it super easy to track “life metrics”. It would be nice to have simple habit tracking as well. Like every time I do yoga I just increment a count towards my yearly goal. This is similar to a recurring task I guess but I like the UX of the app Done. I’m someone who found that journaling can sometimes have too much friction and I think the price point (with PH discount) is fine especially with the lifetime plan. I usually don’t pay for things but this was a big enough pain point for me at this point in my life and I’m interested in what you’ll develop in future iterations!
Kelvin Angstrom
@ephemeral_truth Hey Paul! Thank you so much for the feedback. Journalling will be there in about two weeks :) If you enable it in features, it will ask you every day (similar to the "How do you feel" question), if you'd like to write a few words. You'll be able to set a word goal for each day and there will be analytics on it.
Kelvin Angstrom
@ephemeral_truth I like your thoughts on a simple increment for certain types of tasks that have that type of target. Easily done. Also by only adding it to the features page, users who want it can add it without cluttering the interface (which is important to me).
Bimbisara Desh
Hi @kelvinangstrom Firstly, congrats on your launch and well done for creating a new approach to time management. I do like your app and feel it solves a problem I have been facing. One question, since you are a one-man operation, how committed are you to the product? I am just a little concerned if buying the lifetime plan that things might stop after some time.
Kelvin Angstrom
@bimbisara_desh Thanks for the best wishes! Glad you like it so far. And how committed am I is a great and very valid question. Let me break it down. This is my first side-project, I haven't jumped between a dozen different ones in the past. One of my "Life goals" is to not have a 9-to-5 and truly work for myself. I would absolutely love to work on Angstrom full-time. Ironically the fact that I do have a job makes this project a much safer bet than a VC backed startup. I don't need to generate $50k per month in order to make payroll (I've been in VC backed startups). If Angstrom only generated a couple of hundred bucks per month I would happily keep at it. Today has changed my opinion on the viability of the project. I may not have very many upvotes compared to the other projects today but sales were amazing :) Not enough to quit work tomorrow but not very far off! It has hit a nerve with some people. I've been blown away by that. Hope that answers your question!
Len Chu
@bimbisara_desh @kelvinangstrom , I saw Angstrom.life mentioned in an FB group discussion, checked out the site and was about 80% sold on the concept right then and there. The onboarding experience - very cool, casual and fun, BTW Kelvin - had me at 100% right then and there.
António Almeida
Very nice! Current lifetime offer includes future updates / functions or is ther upsells down the road? Don't have time to check everything and if it fits but I like what I see. As a one man show I feel at home. Congratulations!!
Kelvin Angstrom
@ajoscoa Thanks António! Really good question and something I have had a few emails about today. Which means I did a really bad job explaining it. You will always get all of the functionality that the $49 / year subscribers get. In the future (and this is probably not going to happen), there might be "super premium features" like one-on-one coaching or a real human reviewing your goals with you, that won't be included to lifetime or yearly subscribers. They would separate one-off payments.
António Almeida
@kelvinangstrom few suggestions: - monthly recurring feature or maybe a more flexible way to implement it - disable / enable levels from the backlog. It doesn't make much sense to me having milestones and life goals mixed up with tasks on that kanban. Same for priority.. for me would make sense tasks in kanban and projects in priority. It would be nice to choose. - a calendar of schedule tasks and a timeline would be another nice features. - It would be nice to have some feature to export a data backup Overall you did a fantastic job. Amazing what you did alone. Super kudos to you man! It
Juan Carlos Haro
Hi Kevin, it looks great, and it feels like a very interesting tool to use, the onboarding chatbot is astounding... Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand how to get the most of it, do you have any video to understand how is the use of the app for an average user will be very useful. I mean, it is not about how it works, it is about how to use it in the best way, did I explain myself?
Kelvin Angstrom
@jc_haro Hi Juan, that's a really good idea! It will be a difficult video to make but I think it would be worth the effort...
Falko Moeller
Hello @kelvinangstrom! Great job! Looks really promising! Hope this will be available as native app as well soon.
Kelvin Angstrom
@_productgeek Hi Falko... Thanks very much! I have the Mac desktop app working pretty well already. I use it everyday myself. There is still a bit of work left to do though. It will be available for Mac, Windows and Linux. I wouldn't like to put an ETA on it just yet. Do you mind if I ask how you felt about the onboarding? Others seem to have felt it was a bit much and others really liked it.
Falko Moeller
Hi @kelvinangstrom, I think the onboarding was niceley done. The only thing I'd change is to make it non-mandatory/skipable.
Tommi Tallgren

Great idea to have personal task management for your full life goals

Pros:

Simple to take into use (fun onboarding bot actually), and simple to use!

Cons:

With less features in the beginning (?)

Ville Laitila

Probably causes some duplication with work tasks if using also Trello or GH issues at the same time?

Pros:

Nice holistic approach on the life/work goals & tasks Good UX

Cons:

It could be easier to find the "mark task as done" button. I finally found it :-)

Krzesimir
Sooo... where did you find this button? 😂 I still can't find it!
Franco Sun
Great idea! I may end up moving my system from Evernote here, but need to try for a period of time. I might need a more comprehensive tutorial on how to use backlog and stuff. Another question is what if multiple milestone has a shared task, or a milestone contributes to multiple lifegoals?
Kelvin Angstrom
@francox9 Thanks Franco! You're right, the help text is a bit light at the moment. I plan on making a video tutorial for each page. At the moment neither of your two questions are doable. However, it would be a really easy change for me to make. I would like for a few others to want the same thing though before implementing it. Cheers!
Franco Sun
I'm also a frontend dev(I guess you are too), and I enjoy the UI. Just a few: 1, You might want to set user-select: none to many places 2, I really would like to select a type at the "new" dialog window, before the modal comes out
Kelvin Angstrom
@francox9 I'm actually not a frontend dev. It has been a steep learning curve. I'll definitely have a think about that. Thanks for the feedback!
Roveek
This thing is actually amazing! The onboarding bot was a lot of fun. Is the onboarding bot custom,or is there a service I could use to get the same thing?
Kelvin Angstrom
Thanks Roveek! Sorry it's completely custom. I wanted to do something interesting rather than just the standard onboarding walkthrough that everyone skips by without actually looking at. The only thing that I wanted to get across with the onboarding were the key concepts rather than telling people how to use the product, which I would hope are fairly self-explanatory.
Kelvin Angstrom
@malczak did it bother you that much? ;) If it did I will definitely consider building that functionality.
Matt
@kelvinangstrom A bit yes. It is a cool feature but after some time I just wanted to start playing around with the app. I have shared link with a friend and got a similar feedback 'how to skip onboarding'.
Kelvin Angstrom
@malczak Well that settle it then. I'll need to do something about it. Thanks for sharing with your friend!! :) Beyond the onboarding, what did you think of it?
Matt
@kelvinangstrom The app looks very promising, I started playing with it today - no cons at this point. I think I need to spend a bit more time with it and see how it goes with my own way of organising my life. Can you share a bit more on tech stack?
Bimbisara Desh

It breaks down Life Goals into bite-sized pieces and provides you a system to achieve them.

Pros:

intuitive design with small learning curve, simple + focused structure, mood tracker, routine builder, graphs to visualise analytics data

Cons:

no dekstop / mobile apps (but they are in development)

Lily Granger
I am here re-watch and read over again the shot-introduction abt this project, while out there i have tons of sh*ts to be done :(((
Marco Valli
Could you please expand/clarify the "Access to all current functionality" item in the Lifetime Plan, please? Does it mean future updates/upgrades won't be available for early adopters?
Kelvin Angstrom
@markwalls You're right, it's terrible copy. I mean the opposite. Lifetime gives you everything that you get on the yearly plan.
Kelvin Angstrom
@markwalls I was considering that there might be an offer of "super premium features" in the future. Such as one-on-one goal coaching with a consultant that would not be included. They would not be included in the yearly either, do you know what I mean?
