Turn any Document (PDF, Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Pasted Text, Image or Prompt into Flashcards in Seconds and skip the Hours of Preparation. Learn anything, anytime, anywhere fast with Spaced Repetition. Available for iOS, Android & Web.
Hi @all -
in March I launched the first version of KardsAI as I needed an App to generate Flashcards for myself using prompts in order to being able to learn topic specific Spanish Vocabulary such as Grocery Shopping on the Go.
Since being featured here and lots of Downloads later I noticed that a lot of Students take advantage of converting their Study and School PDFs in order to prepare for upcoming Exams. That motivated me to build on that idea and launching this second iteration here again.
Since March I added a lot of new Features to KardsAI. Some of which are:
- Multi Platform Support: Now available as Web App as well as for iOS and Android
- Social Features: Users are able to share their generated Flashcards with Friends and Study jointly
- Stronger AI Algorithms for Flashcard Generations: A lot of tuning and time was spent on enhancing the algorithms to generate flashcards from a wide arrange of topics, languages and documents
- Support for more documents: Now KardsAI does not only support PDFs, Texts and Prompts but can also turn handwritten Notes, Images, Powerpoint and Word Files into Flashcards making it much more versatile.
- Statistics, Improved UI & more supported Languages
I would love for you to check it out and let me know what you would like to see me build next. I am also happy to cooperate with any educators, schools or other founders in this edTech Space. Just reach out!
Timo
@kjosephabraham cheers Joseph, thanks! First version took half a year. And than the past 4 months to really tone in the model quality, build web, add features etc. - one is never done 😅
Impressive work @tj_b ! The addition of multi-platform support and the ability to convert various documents into flashcards really makes KardsAI a versatile tool for students.
I think your product is more useful when I learn a foreign language like Spanish. It can convert phrases to a number of cards and it's easy for me to learn. Great tool, congrats to your team!
@sebastean_wu thanks Sebastian, that’s also exactly how I use it and why I built it initially. Never got the right level of speech at the Duolingo’s etc
Hi @tj_b,
Congratulations on the new iteration of KardsAI! The improvements you've made since March sound fantastic, especially the multi-platform support and enhanced AI algorithms.
It’s impressive how you've expanded the range of supported documents, making it easier for students and lifelong learners to create tailored flashcards from virtually any source.
The addition of social features is a great way to foster collaborative learning, turning study sessions into a shared experience. I'm curious, how has the feedback from educators or students influenced these updates?
Looking forward to seeing how KardsAI continues to evolve and support diverse learning needs!
@steven_wang_0804 thanks Steven, yeah students use the sharing feature a lot to create their decks for class and share with their class mates. And lots of people use the web version. Has overtaken the Android version already
Hey Timo,
I'm wondering how it handles more visual subjects like art history or biology. Can it effectively generate image-based flashcards?
Is there a way to collaborate and share decks with classmates?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin hey krylo! Thanks, good question. Actually I see lots of user prefer adding their images afterwards, that way they can have exactly what they want. It’s also why I made sure users can add as many images as they like contrary to other apps where that’s a paid feature. Those decks can shared with friends and within a class. Either by adding friends in app or by sharing the flashcard deck code with friends directly for them to copy. I might bring image generation later but need to think where this is really useful and affordable as well.
