Investor Profile by Roundtable - Find your next investors with Roundtable

Once you decide to raise funds, you’ll spend weeks looking for Business Angels. Now with Investor Profiles, you can directly see if you fit their investment thesis. Even better, we’ve created a list of top BAs on Folk, the CRM we used to raise our own seed.

👋 Hi founders and makers! With Roundtable, we’re building the marketplace and financial infrastructure to help structure investments in startups. With more than 300M€ of startup investments going through the platform in 2 years, we think we’re decently connected to Business Angels. And yet, when we raised our seed round last year, we spent ages finding BAs, curating them, finding that some were not investing at the time, etc. We ended up raising 3M€ with amazing BAs which we love dearly <3, but I can assure you we had better things to do like, you know, running our business. That’s why we’ve: 1️⃣ built Investor Profiles allowing our users to showcase their investment thesis, portfolio of investment, and explain what they look for in startups, 2️⃣ aggregated the top profiles in an Investor Database, and 3️⃣ partnered with our friends at Folk to host it. They’ve built a great CRM which we used for our own seed round. FYI, we’ve talked to and excluded several Business Angels who told us they were not currently investing. If there’s a household name you cannot find here, it may be because they opted out for now. 👉 Founders, have a look, and I hope you’ll save time preparing your next round! It’s your most precious asset 🙂 👉 Investors, if you’re interested in being listed: create your Profile page and contact us! *⭐️ This database is of course biased towards our existing user base. If there is a country you would like us to research and add, don’t hesitate to share it in the comments!* **LINKS👇** Create your Profile page on app.roundtable.eu Access the database on roundtable.eu/investor-database

@julien_fissette Congratulations on the launch! Wishing you a journey full of achievements and success. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to other creators?
Julien Fissette
Hi @kjosephabraham, to take the time to prepare it well! The product, the assets, explain to your community how they can help you on D Day, all that takes a lot of time and effort. But definitely worth it!
Cassandra
This is really helpful!!! I like how it gathers those vital resources for people on both sides. Congratulations on your launch!
Evan Testa
Thanks Cassandra

The concept it really cool. Forgive my ignorance, but would I need to be incorporated in France or Luxembourg to sign up and use it as a founder? Also what is the average raise for people in this position?
Evan Testa
Hi Tyrone, No we are supporting founders all over the world ! Just we are mainly having European LPs for now

Great product! Do you streamline SPV admin creation with the French greffe? It's a nightmare to incorporate and modify French entities? It can save me a lot of time creating SC and SAS in France.

Would be great to have a column to see number of invests / latest invest date. To filter out inactive lurkers 😅

@alexis_guinebretiere Yeah but that changes with the winds over time. It might be hard to track, but with crunchbase etc it's possible. Ive seen VC platforms track this. It's one of the strongest indicators TBH. Okay this VC invested 8 times in the last 2 months. Great cadence. Worth approaching etc. If a VC did only 2 invests in the last year. Then maybe not spend too much time etc.
Julien Fissette
@sentry_co great feedback! We will think how to best incorporate it in a v2 🙏

This sounds like a very practical solution for startups! I'm curious about what criteria are used to vet the Business Angels listed?
Julien Fissette
Hi @memphys_sk, great question! The end product contains between 50 and 100 top Business Angels (BAs) per country. The idea was to have a mix of “veterans” and promising new BAs, as well as a mix of men and women BAs. But how did we get there? We started with existing lists, which gave us a few thousand names, as well as reviewing our user base. We have near 20k users, mostly investors, on the Roundtable platform. We then narrowed them down with the help of a few top angels from our network in each target country. What we basically asked them was : “who would you follow without thinking if they invited you to a deal?” That’s why we’ve only included in the list countries where we have a geographical footprint. Finally, we tried to contact everyone to check if they were still actively investing at the moment. This is why some household names may be missing: they told us they didn’t want to be listed, or were not currently investing. Hope this helps!

We need more transparency in the world of private equity fundraise - this is another great step towards it! After hearing so much more about poor VC experiences, this quality database is much needed. Did you curate this by emailing these VCs? Congrats on the launch @julien_fissette and team!

@julien_fissette - thanks for sharing! Great idea leveraging top angels to refine the list. And love the mix/diversity here!

Hi Julien, this sounds like a fantastic tool for founders! Streamlining the process of finding the right investors is a real game-changer. How often do you update the Investor Database to ensure it stays current?
Julien Fissette
@alex_dulub we plan on updating it every few months for now, and over time integrate it in the broader Roundtable product to have live information :)
Anthony Losso
Great tool to use when raising funds!
Julien Fissette
@tony_ls big thanks! Are you a maker or an investor?
Evan Testa
Thanks Anthony
