Hi everyone!
Today we're excited to introduce the first version of Ivy to the Product Hunt community. But first, a bit of a backstory...
In 2014 I was diagnosed with GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). I was in school at the time, and I was trying to manage my time at University with two part time jobs. It was definitely a chaotic point in my life, and in order to get through it all, I had to take things one day at a time – keeping my mental and physical health top of mind. I did that by keeping detailed journals and to-do lists.
Fast forward a bit and I found myself dropping out of University to work at Shopify, and then Wealthsimple (both considered to be some pretty exciting Canadian companies!).
So over the ~5 years or so of working at Shopify then Wealthsimple, I (like many) had tried a number of different tools to keep my life and priorities in check. Journaling, Jira, Trello, Github, Email, Slack, etc…but none of them really helped me get a grasp of everything that was going on in my life. Indeed, using multiple tools to try and stay productive is somewhat counterintuitive.
And so that’s where Ivy comes in.
Today it’s a simple to-do list app based on a 100-year old productivity method (The Ivy Lee Method). But in the future we see Ivy becoming a tool that aggregates all the different ways people get things done, with a balance of mental and digital health on top.
We're currently iOS only with plans to roll out on other platforms in the coming months.

It looks pretty cool but apparently it’s not available in my country and I cannot try it out. Any particular reason for that? I don’t understand why you would region lock it @tuckerschreiber

I was initially thinking "another to do list app...." and even after I installed it i was thinking "it actually is just another to do list app...".
However..... it's really nice. It's a great example of why you shouldn't avoid building something in a crowded space. If you do it beautifully and make it function well then you can create your own space. This is awesome. Well done!
Hi @tuckerschreiber this is an interesting method, had not heard of it.
Three questions:
1) can you share an example from a day that shows how it incorporates work and personal? Something like the below?
Run, finish prez, finish analysis, reach out to Jim, cook dinner, bed by 9
2) as in above example how much do you incorporate recurring things? Cooking dinner is important but you know you need to do that anyway.
3) how do you account for meetings in your list? Is it for time you are not in mtgs or do you include important mtgs on here as well?

1. Yeah that's pretty much it for me. For example, I might have "Get allergy pills, Prep for Meeting, Respond to emails, Work on Project Brief, Cook Dinner, Read Before Bed". In the future we hope to have a better way of sorting work/personal life tasks.
2. For me I keep recurring tasks until they "stick". I need to clean my cat's litter box at least twice a week, so I kept adding that as a task until I started doing it out of habit.
3. It's totally up to you! For me, if it was an important meeting, I'd add it. But you could imagine in the future we have a calendar integration that helps you prioritize _what_ meetings (if any) appear on your list of to-dos.

I have been taking hemp oil for a few months now. It has significantly helped my anxiety and stress to a point of where I feel like a different person. I am sleeping better, happier, and less worried about the things that I cannot control. I would recommend yooforic hemp oil.
This is exactly what I needed... I keep making notes in my phone but they just get lost in there and later when I check them I have no idea what do they relate to. Cool idea! :)
Excited to see what's next for Ivy! So much potential.
Pros:Been using Ivy regularly for weeks and it's working for me so far. Straightforward and easy-to-use.
Cons:Push notification customization (reminders) would be great.
Great work on Ivy! It's rare that a new app can become a habit for me as quickly as Ivy has. And I'm thankful for that -- definitely helping me stay focused and organized.
I could not formulate this need until I tried the app. It is must have for a megapolis-living, multiple jobs/projects-operating person. I have been using it for just a few days, but already feel more calm and productive. Thank you Tucker!

Pros:Simple, effective, and focused.
Cons:Nice to have: more options to carry forward unfinished tasks, Kong term vs short term tasks.

Hi! I love this app and it really changes my life. Only one feedback from daily struggle is: you can only set the task at that day. @tuckerschreiber Could you allow user to set goal for tomorrow also? If I understand correctly, The Ivy Lee Method also mentioned you should set up the tasks before the day comes.
Have been loving the Ivy all the way from the early beta. Such a great approach for keeping focused. It's a refreshing take on to do lists and task managers that often get less useful with more features.
Looks good and smooth, finally something simple and beautiful that gets the things done. It's really promising but the feature that i'd really love to see is to add tasks in advance from the calendar. Like, i know in two days i'll have to Task 1 and Task 2, so i place myself on this day in the calendar and add tasks.
For ADHD people like me, it would be so helpful as we rarely remember stuff if we don't write it down as soon as it comes to mind.

Cons:More guidance on the backlog feature to help me focus my long-term planning, too!
@tuckerschreiber Awesome product, I left y'all a review on the App Store as well. I'd been using a similar system in the notes app but this is so much cleaner. I have two suggestions for future improvements:
1) I see that incomplete tasks move to the next day. Currently, they remain in the same position in the list when they move over, but an option to move incomplete tasks to the top of the list would be great for the next day would be great.
2) For incomplete items, a small number indicator next to the task title showing how many days it has been rolling over as incomplete for would be helpful. A useful way to see if you are kicking a can down the road.
Looks interesting! But not available in the Dutch App Store (The Netherlands). Any specific reason for that? Is it the language? A lot of Dutch people can understand the English language :)
Looks like a good app. However, after entering a few tasks I am unable to select the radio button to complete them. I have tried restarting the app and phone without success. Any suggestions?
