I generally pay attention to
1. Mind Set
2. Why (Motive behind joining)
3. Ambitions
4. Skillset a bit
Primarily, hard skills and fit. Soft skills can be developed relatively quickly.
The most important things are skill overlap. I will always try to hire individuals who can contribute something new or bring in new perspectives.
Soft and tech skills aside... are we in sync on the goals? Does the new hire understand what we expect from them and are they willing to join us on this journey?
