Hi PH - My co-founder and I are building the future of AI programming

Hello again PH!

I’m Fernanda, long-time PH member, founder, and indie hacker, though I have been away for a bit.

Recently, I co-founded Midspiral, an R&D-driven company where we’re exploring better ways to program with AI. I’m working on it with a brilliant Harvard CS professor, and we’re focused on solving the core frustrations devs face when working with tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Replit, Lovable, etc.

We're tackling some inherent flaws in these systems. Our overall vision is to empower people to innovate entirely at the product level (features, UI, UX, etc) without having to approve or make coding decisions, because the system will take care of creating correct, efficient, performant code by default. We truly believe in the concept of metaprogramming.

If you’re deep in the AI coding trenches or just tired of fighting with your tools, I’d love to connect. Always up for a convo about what’s broken, what’s promising, and what you wish existed (even better if you think it's not possible!).

We're currently gathering a small (40 people max) hand-picked group of AI power users to help us guide the research and shape the products. In exchange for your thoughts and time, we will provide an active, tight knit community of knowledgeable builders, expert tips/discussions, swag, product boosts, and early access to everything. And street cred, of course.
