Hey, I’m Zakhar – Exploring the intersection of productivity & mental health

by

Hey everyone! I’m Zakhar, currently diving deep into the worlds of productivity, mental health, and self-improvement.

Lately, I’ve been fascinated by how the systems we use to improve our lives often backfire—productivity tools that make us more stressed, self-improvement routines that make us feel "not enough," and mental health strategies that ignore real-world struggles.

I’d love to connect with people working on better solutions—tools that don’t just optimize our schedules, but actually make our lives better.

Curious: what’s one change you’ve made in your habits or workflow that actually improved your life—not just your efficiency?

@zakhar_lukonin well, I've invented a "one-task-per-hour" methodology. Since that day, I've never struggled with my motivation and ADHD.

@goshatirov Interesting! So you strictly stick to one task per hour, no matter what? How do you handle tasks that naturally take less or more time?

Well, either I divide them on smaller once so that each will have the complete result by itself (in case I will not want to continue the whole task later), or, in case I can not divide it from the start, I start completing it to understand how to divide it on smaller slices during the process.

One change that helped me was muting notifications for everything except actual calls. I didn’t realize how much random alerts were messing with my focus

@julia_watson3 I do the same, but sometimes I even turn off my phone. Our phones are the first disattractors in our life.

Launching soon!

Put my phone aside, list out my tasks on paper, and complete them one by one to experience a sense of achievement

Hi Zakhar! I've been wondering about that right there with you. I am always buying new planners, guidebooks, apps, etc. to help me feel more productive while staying present in what is currently happening in my life. I'd love to hear what you end up finding out.

Single tasking and rhythms not routines have helped me feel less stressed. It's crazy how often I am doing so many things at once but seems like nothing ever gets done. Focusing fully on one task at a time and knowing when in my days, I'll be able to complete that task helps me engage more with family and friends without worrying about when I'm going to get things done.
