Any plans to add Product Hunt, @thomas? Here's a link to our API. πŸ˜‰
Thomas Marban
@rrhoover Absolutely, is there a QA check or just a stream of random submissions?
Ryan Hoover
@thomas you can request posts only on the homepage and retrieve the number of upvotes to filter down to more popular products.
Thomas Marban
@rrhoover Done. Bottom position is actually pretty good since folks tend to skip the middle part. Also went for the stream rather than best of to keep the river flowing.
Ryan Hoover
@thomas WOW. That was fast. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thanks for the Upvotes everyone. If the site looks familiar, here's a quick re-introduction: https://medium.com/@thomas/popur...

@kay0stheory Which was the very first copycat back then ;)
Brian Lee
@thomas nothing wrong with making a better wheel ;)
Ray Gillenwater
Great idea and simple execution. Just made it a permalink on my iPhone home screen πŸ‘πŸ‘

@raygwater Glad I put the finishing touches on the favicon just this morning ;)

Damn this is great, and exactly what I was looking for!

I luv it…! This is the kind of craigslist of news feed… Lot of potential here.

Upvote for trying to fix web 2.0 (or is it 3.0 now?) problem - too much focus on giving "experience" and not much on giving the actual information.

@thomas Is there a way to hide certain sections? I love this and would use everyday if I wasn't pelted with buzzfeed as soon as I hit the page.
Thomas Marban
@matt_moravec yes, some light customization is planned; but don't expect it to become the next feed reader.
Valuemerce
In which way is it better or different from http://popurls.com/ ?
Thomas Marban
@valuemerce It's actually being maintained and made with modern standards. Mobile, etc. Popurls sports lots of sources that haven't changed in years.
Valuemerce
@thomas Thanks for the clarification. BTW: It would be nice if in hyper there would be an option to add rss sources individually when being locked in to a personal account.
