Hey Product Hunt! I am super excited to share my new app “Hourlytics: Mindful Logging” with everyone here 🔥.
The idea behind Hourlytics came from a question that made me anxious everyday: ➡️ “Where the heck did all my time go?”. (And sometimes at the end of the week, I'd wonder, "What did I even do all week?") I knew that I was super bad at time management, but I didn't know exactly why. So, I decided to become more mindful of my time and started tracking it closely, hour-by-hour. That's how I came up with the idea for Hourlytics! Here are some features Hourlytics has: ✅ Closely track your time spent on different tasks, projects, or activities (like work, hobbies, procrastination, social media distractions etc.). ✅ Quick one-touch notifications to record your time from the iPhone Lock Screen (so you don’t have to open the app every single time). ✅ Insightful analytics dashboard to help you understand your time (you can toggle between day/week view and access logs for previous dates). The core features of the app are absolutely free. There’s an optional Pro version, but that’s intended for people who will actually find the app useful. My goal with this app is to help people become more mindful of their time, so that they can figure out what's going wrong and fix it. I am working on more features with this goal in mind and plan to release them soon. Do you ever feel like the day is over and you have no idea where the time went? Give this app a try and let me know what you think! 😎

Cool tool @deepansh_jagga - Is there a way to set goals for the upcoming days and then track how you did against those goals?
Deepansh Jagga
@salil_sethi Thanks a lot for your comment! 😀 That is a wonderful suggestion about adding and tracking goals. For now, we are planning to add a feature where you can add task priority for every task, and then tasks with higher priority will be specially highlighted in the analytic charts. This way you will be able to track high priority tasks more closely. But perhaps, we can have a separate section for goals, or infact make goals a sub-category of tasks (so each task can have multiple goals within them). And then make a spearate view to highlight and track these goals in the Analytics screen. This might need some more user feedback and brainstorming. Which way you think you would prefer?

As someone who often loses track of time, this sounds really promising. I feel like I can also use it to remind myself to relax and takes breaks amidst long work hours. I definitely want to give it a try. Congrats on the launch!
Deepansh Jagga
@heleana This sounds like a tool you would definitely benefit from. You can use it to analyze your time and work towards work-life balance. 🙌🏻 Actually this is one of the directions we want the product to take moving forward. Instead of just having 2 categories to group time (Productive and Unproductive), we plan to add more categories like Health, Hobbies, Leisure etc. because life is much more than chasing productivity. The more important thing is that a person should be mindful about how they are spending their time, and then be able to adjust it between different things to strike a balance they like. Would you agree on this? I hope you enjoy the app. 😎

Looks pretty nice @deepansh_jagga! Congrats on the launch :) Got a quick question - will users be able to change the tracking from 1 hour to 2 hours or 30 minutes? Don't know if you are targeting these people as well, but by doing this it might also help professionals that need to fill in work timesheets.
Deepansh Jagga
@veselin_kostov Thanks for your comment! 😀 Yes definitely, this feature is in our roadmap. Some people might want to track their time more closely (like people who fill timesheets as you mentioned), and others might want less notifications because they are doing the same task for a long period of time and don’t want to be nudged frequently (like when people are at work). So, we will probably give notification frequency option ranging from notification every 30 mins, and all the way up to 6 hours. Which can be changed dynamically by the user throughout the day, depending on what they are doing or plan to do. Thanks again for the great suggestion, and please let us know any other feedback you might have in the future! 💪🏻

Looks like a cool tool for productivity nuts. Any plans to have it integrate with you calendar to create an outline for how you're spending your time or is the plan to keep it a more manual logging app?
Deepansh Jagga
@adamberke Thank you for checking out the product, Adam! 😄 Well that’s a great suggestion, we haven’t thought about this, but this is a fantastic idea. Syncing calendar data and automatically adding it to the time logs will help reduce the manual effort. We were thinking of integrating our app with tools like Notion or Asana, or just providing simple export, so that users can access the log data from all of their other favourite tools, but Calendar sync didn’t cross our mind. Thanks, and we would love to know if you have any other feedback or suggestions! 😎

@deepansh_jagga Got it. We actually built something like this at my company Charma (fka WorkPatterns) but ultimately moved in a different direction, so happy to share notes on what worked/didn't.
Sergey Novikov
I think this is exactly the control app I need for time management! But I will wait for the android app.

@sergey_novikov_91 Thanks for checking out the product! 😄 We might release an Android app later💪🏻

@sergeypotikhanov That sounds like a plan! I would love to know if you have any suggestions to make the app better after downloading and using it :)
