Sup people?
I create Goodbye John Doe a little while ago to share some of my (quite frankly bizarre) placeholder names with the world. I found I put a smile on my clients' faces by using quirky names instead of the boring, default 'John Doe'.
The site features a generator preloaded with a selection of weird and wonderful names, for people to use in their projects. Each name is accompanied by a bio, accessible by hovering over the book icon beneath.
e.g. 'Wisteria Ravenclaw: Suburban socialite. Deeply Unpopular.'
Since launching, surprisingly the site has received over 20K visitors and around 300,000 names have been generated. GJD made it into the popular Codrops Collective, was featured on Sidebar and was tweeted by some heavy hitters including: @smashingmag, @designmodo, @hongkiat and @whale, to name a few.
Thank you so much to everyone who has shared and upvoted 👊
Many thanks for hunting, @leanux_bala.
Pro Tip: Turn your speakers on before you hit the 'Mashup' switch.
