Hey Makers! "I'm launching Global Sites AI, a boilerplate to help developers easily build multilingual production sites without needing to hire a translation team. As the sole developer on countless small tool sites, I didn't have the budget to hire a translation team, nor did I have the time to manage all the processes involved in making this work globally. So I decided to build this myself. I worked with a bunch of AI tools and CLI processes until I found something that seemed reliable and relatively pain-free. And that's how Global Sites AI was born. I have a boilerplate that includes a TypeScript based build system where the whole flow is easy to follow. If you know HTML, CSS, and a little TypeScript, you should be at home with this static site generator. I err on the side of less complexity while still including some useful features. It uses TypeScript for the values rendered in the UI AND for the build process that you can customize. There are steps available that can validate the HTML, check for broken links, make site maps, and manipulate static files. Soon, it should have more SEO validations if you opt in to them. I think everyone needs a way to build a reliable production site that is easy to deploy. In addition, I want the sites to be easy for anyone to use across the world. That means that multiple languages are really needed. I've made many sites with similar technology and 3 sites specifically with this boilerplate. It made it really easy to include multiple languages with little time required. I love the idea of building websites that anyone can use, no matter where they are or what language they speak. @ben_maddox nice MVP. I speak a few languages and use Google Translate frequently...it's not a perfect product, because there the underlying automatic translators are imperfect. How do you plan on addressing that ?

@aris_nakos I am using multiple translation sources. Open ai and google translate. I tried to give some extra context to OpenAI where I can. After that, the best I know to do is provide the translation files and allow review by humans. It is far from perfection but I think it gets you pretty far. Especially for the solo developer.

Automating multilingual site creation could be very useful for many developers. I'm curious about the accuracy of the AI translations: - how do you ensure they maintain the nuance and context of the original content? - Also, are there plans to add support for right-to-left languages? @kyrylosilin I do some translations to and from languages as spot checks. I can't do as much nuance as you describe yet. There are some files that can be manually reviewed. You can add human review as another step fairly easily. I have been testing with Arabic. The most challenging parts are making sure numbers use the right script and making sure the css is setup for them. That isn't as much with the boilerplate I build though.
