While developing a platform or website, which mode are you working on first—light or dark mode?

As per various research, most people now use dark mode in their devices—be it their smartphone or their computer. So while developing a platform, what mode do you think developers should focus first—the traditional light mode, or the growing dark mode? Which one is easier? Or you make a neutral theme that goes with both light and dark theme?

Well, speaking not as a designer but as a user who almost always has dark mode on, it really bothers me when I come across a website that doesn’t match the theme. I’m just being neat-peaky is all. Popular platforms like LinkedIn did not have dark mode for many days, and even when they launched one, the colour combination was poorly executed.
