ideation for new products is kind of an art and science mix.
i start by looking at problems or gaps in existing solutions.
then, brainstorming. no idea's too wild. it's all about possibilities.
next, filter ideas based on feasibility, market need, and passion.
prototyping and getting early feedback helps refine the idea further.
it's a cycle of imagine, test, tweak, and sometimes, start over.
how about you? what's your go-to process for cooking up new product?
@shajedulkarim_ my process is pretty similar. Overall it follows the structure of a 5-day Sprint, if I’m serious about it.
Other times, I’ll run into something and think wouldn’t this be better if… and How might we….
Then, I’ll sketch some ideas with storyboards to better define the opportunities.
Once I have the idea, I’ll do some quick rounds of feedback from the end user group. Could be a Facebook poll, Google form, or Twitter poll.
If it’s feasible; I’ll refine the solution, wireframe, design, and prototype it. It goes through some more testing.
The most important thing is the idea, if you have an idea that no one has or a universal idea, then a large percentage of what needs to be done has already been completed. What remains is the implementation plan.
