Awesome ideas! A few more I'd add: 1) AI-powered product recommendations - like a 'if you upvoted this, you might also like...' feature to help discover relevant products. 2) Ability to save products to custom collections beyond standard upvotes - could be useful for categorizing promising tools for diff use cases. 3) Slack integration to get notified of trending products in specific categories. Would be great for staying on top of the latest finds without having to check PH daily.
Great question!!
1. More advanced filtering for products
Adding multi-layer filters for categories, target audiences (e.g., startups, SMBs, enterprise), or pricing models (e.g., freemium, subscription-based) could improve user experience and discovery.
2. Enhanced Maker profiles with milestones
Highlighting makers' journeys (e.g., product milestones like fundraising, major updates, or achievements) can inspire the community and give makers ongoing visibility beyond launch day.
e.g. timeline feature on maker profiles that showcases "Product launched," "Hit 10,000 users," or "Raised Series A" etc
3. In-App collaboration for product Hunters
A way to connect makers with beta testers, feedback providers, or even co-founders directly on the platform.
This is a solid list! :) @giomate
I would add to the top e.g.
– option to have links in posts,
– tagging people in the bio or products
– option to remove bots completely from this platform (this is rather wish)
– adding pictures / videos without the need to use coding
– text formating
When product owner select a person as a Maker for their product, it must be approved by the user who added by the owner. PH permits uproduct owners can add some users as co-Maker (or maker as PH's jargon) without permission. This week I have been added as a Maker of a brand's Maker without my permission. PH should ask user's permission. If the Product Owner make it x times in y days etc remove the user. This is frustrating to handle these things while I was trying to understand other products or working on mine.
My most desired feature on ph is the ability to use natural language to describe my needs and have the system recommend relevant products while explaining why they fit. A simple Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system would suffice
I’d love to see more detailed reviews on Product Hunt. Upvotes are great for showing interest, but having categories like ease of use, pricing, and support would really help users get a clearer picture of a product before trying it out.
