What do you prefer for brainstorming - Miro, Figjam or other?

Here at Product Hunt, we found that we were slowly shifting away from @Miro and defaulting to @Notion for typing up brainstorming notes during meetings (we use @Tandem so already have built-in breakout rooms, ambient music options and timers).

So we decided to cancel our Miro account and continue to use Notion or switch to a Figjam board if we really needed a sticky notes format (we're already using Figma so it helps reduce the number of tools we are using). *Spoiler alert: we haven't needed to use a sticky note board yet...

What is your team's go-to workflow and tools for brainstorming?

Interesting!
Miro is our go to tool when it comes to brainstorming. Definitely not as a note taking tool, but as a visual person I can't imagine using something else.

excalidraw is great

@rajiv_ayyangar yes it's 'Unlimited collaborators' on their free and paid plans (that's in browser).

it's also the most popular Obsidian plugin. I believe you can collaborate if your volt is in a shared drive in the cloud

If it's just me - I like a notebook, voice recorder, and ChatGPT. This allows me to scribble, capture, and turn the whole brainstorm into a summary and actionable immediately.

If it's with a Team, I'd say whatever most folks will revist or be able to feel the most comfortable. I've often found Miro works pretty well or alternatively, just a blank word document (or Notion) often is a great place to start!

Sometimes, pen and paper are the best but if I go digital I normally use excalidraw inside obsidian

Yeah, Miro and other drawing tools are kind of heavy for live diagramming, and we're trying to make that experience better in a brainstorm. Splotch (launched 2/28) turns written descriptions into live, editable diagrams. Our vision is that any notes describing a process or system auto-generate an accompanying diagram that updates on the fly as the notes change. We'd love any and all feedback!

Hey @ph_leeanntrang . Curious to know if you had a chance to try out the new docs widget in Miro. We recently added it the use cases you mentioned above are perfect for it. Might be worth a try even though it seems like you have moved on from Miro. Happy to chat more on this!

@shwaytaj Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, we already cancelled Miro but will def take a look the next time I use it again. TBH, for a remote solution to post it brainstorming style, I haven't found anything better than Miro (we even used it for a basic org chart). For a tool we didn't use often, it made more sense for us to just stick to brainstorming in Notion for the time being.

We have FigJam but sometimes old good Google Documents :D
