Slack or Email

I feel like there's backlash (a slacklash??) in our midst. I go back and forth. I love Slack, the informality, the ease, the ability to jump through conversations and channels; but at the same time, things do have the ability to get buried or lost. Also I am drowning in notifications. Do I miss email? Or do I just miss being less busy? What's your take?

I feel like many teams who adopt slack immediately stop using email - I think there can and should be a healthy balance!

It really depends. If I have a person on Slack, I will always write to them on Slack. Otherwise, I'll turn to the email. Though if it's a contract or something that needs to be saved, I will also use email.

I don't love either option. But for virtual teams, Slack replaces the only thing I miss about going into an office... randomly knocking on someone's door and asking a question or just chatting for 5 minutes.

Slack is perfect for me.
