Padding in iOS - why is it so hard to get right?

I am brand new to design, but I’ve been designing our app for 2 years. One thing I’ve realize is, it’s nearly impossible for our iOS developers to get passing to match design perfectly. Anyone have any insights here?

It's a real struggle for sure, but I found it easier after switching to SwitUI.
