Linkedin can act as a complete resume in itself. Also, If you have a complete linkedin profile, you can download it as pdf from your linkedin profile. Which is a complete resume in itself.
Most of the time depends upon what the company is expecting. If a company is reaching out to you, probably they see you're Linkedin profile. If you're reaching out to companies, then they expect a resume.
If you want to showcase your profile as a portfolio, then LinkedIn is the best option.
So, it's always LinkedIn and Resume not LinkedIn vs Resume.
I agree that both are really important. I'm currently job hunting as I want to find something interesting to gain new experience. I tried different apps and sites that help to find a job but nothing caught me. I even contacted some agency I found here https://shiftsmart.pissedconsume... but it also wasn't helpful.
It also depends on the industry you're in. Surprisingly, many industries still don't rely on LinkedIn and fall back on resumes and the old ways of job seeking or hiring!
