On a scale of 0 to 10, I'd say a 78. Very important.

on a scale of 10, i'd say it's a continuous loop. networking isn't just about connections, it's about genuine relationships. it's understanding, learning, and growing together. every interaction holds a lesson, a perspective, a chance to broaden horizons. but, quality over quantity. genuine bonds over fleeting hellos. so while it's essential, approach it with authenticity and openness. in that sense, it's beyond a 10.

From my experience 10 out 10 - networking is about making professional connections that usually presume a mutual benefit or as an act of stewardship...you don't necessarily need to form a deep friendship with everyone in your network, although it can happen. Your network is the living, connective tissue that helps you reach your professional goals - be it landing a new job, getting elected to public office, collecting guidance on a promoting your service, landing a new project/contract or successfully launching a new business...the bigger and more authentic your network, the better you'll be positioned in your professional pursuits - my 2 cents! Great question @jackson_huge , I've thought about this many times...

I think its hard to quantify on a scale. It could be fruitless forever but it could also be the big break you're looking for. It's good practice to always anticipate that the person you're connecting with could be the one that helps you / your company take that next step.

I'd rate the importance of networking at a solid 9. Networking can open doors to opportunities, collaborations, and valuable insights. Building connections helps you learn, grow, and stay updated in your field. It's not just about what you know, but who you know, and the relationships you cultivate can have a significant impact on your personal and professional journey.
