There is only one way to get backline from others: Write great copies and ask the relevant website to quote you.
Write more and let them discover, otherwise nobody will link just the product without any compelling reason.
In the beginning, the easiest ones to get are
- directories
- social media profiles
- launch platforms
- cooperations
Then you'd ideally start with guest blogging (reaching out to fellow makers for example)
@fscholz thanks for sharing! so you start requesting backlinks to your homepage directly, without waiting for the blog? do you have any tips on securing backlinks from directories?
@natalia_toth Yes, so for most directories, links will point to the homepage. That's usually the expected convention. Therefore, you also don't need to have a blog ready for that. There are tons of directories from general business ones, to local ones and niche-focused ones, like eg. AI directories. You don't have to submit your website to every one. Typically you submit your startup / website yourself, so securing them is easy.
For other links, I would always pick an appropriate link target - so the most relevant page. With that being said, you can never go wrong with your homepage. So if you don't have a better target, use the home page.
I'm super interested in this topic. Now I'm trying to submit our product to as many startup/product registries as we can! Also interested in what other makers are doing đź‘€
Hi @natalia_toth,
I believe you can get organic backlinks by: adding content to your landing page or blog, social media pages, launching directories then you can get promoted content or backlinks ..
What is your idea on that?
PS: we are launching soon on PH, if you can hit the notify me button

@abdellah_abbous thanks for joining the discussion! how much content do you normally create before starting reaching out for backlinks? I heard from an expert that you'd need 30-40 blog posts and it sounds like a lot
Best of luck with your launch!
