Has AI affected the way you recruit, assign tasks, or how many people you employ?
One week ago, I noticed in one Facebook group (niché: Graphic design) this discussion post:
TL;DR: Due to AI advancement, he receives 70% less work as a graphic designer – freelancer.
[The text was translated from the Czech language to English.]

Yesterday, I saw a job position "vibe marketer" whose requirements were solely based on AI skills – "show us your AI portfolio"
Even the job description was made by AI: "This job post was generated by Claude and GPT with some minor human tweaks."
Are you reducing human force requirements (cutting off job positions)?
To what extent is your product created by humans, and to what extent is it already an AI-executed product?
How specifically has artificial intelligence affected you? (positively but also negatively)

We disagree... Yes, Businesses will require less humans than they used to but a single domain expert will be able to earn more.
We had a single junior marketer increase her revenue by 300% because she was able to do a lot more while maintaining the same or better quality.
Can you please refer these freelancers to our platform? Our mission is to empower them.

@creative_nemo What is your platform and what are the conditions? Is it only the US-oriented or European people are welcome as well?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. 🤔
It’s fascinating how AI isn’t just supporting existing jobs but actually creating entirely new roles. In my experience AI works best when it amplifies creativity rather than replacing it.
That said, I do wonder what this means for people just starting out.
Curious to hear what everyone’s vibe is on this 🙃

@gianmaria_caltagirone I think even proficient people will have problems with jobs. Because owners of companies want to save as much money as possible.
@busmark_w_nika Totally agree, Nika. I guess the real challenge will be finding ways to balance efficiency with keeping real talent in the loop — especially now with AI pushing that line even further — but hopefully also creating new spaces for human skills to shine.

@gianmaria_caltagirone we need to find any other solution for people because some will be jobless and without money to pay bills...

I was a graphics designer too, but pivoted instantly the day ChatGPT launched in 2022.
So you have only two options:
blame, complain, protest
Learn, adapt, upgrade
Only option 2 can help you.

@jiteshghanchi Did you have your own company, or were employed? Because I think that different companies (corporates) approach this differently. The bigger you are, it is harder to make all the people in the company use the new system. Freelancer is more flexible IMO.

@busmark_w_nika employed
I also saw a case where a graphic design team was replaced by AI. Their clients stopped paying for design services because they had already used past design works to train AI models, which then generated new visuals in a consistent style, completely replacing the need for human designers.
For me, AI has actually brought me new work demands. For example, tasks like creating promotional posters, which used to be handled by the design colleagues, are now expected to be done by me using AI tools.

@focusaur How do you think that these graphic designers will fit into this world? A complete change of profession?
Regarding that company (and similar to that one) – at some point, they may need at least one graphic designer or someone who can discuss rebranding once because ATM, they use already existing style suited for their brand.
@busmark_w_nika That’s a great point, Nika. I think that even though AI can generate visuals based on past work, the role of a designer still remains important. Rather than focusing solely on creating designs from scratch, designers might shift toward more strategic tasks, such as rebranding, visual storytelling, and so on. There are many areas where human insight remains essential.

@focusaur I mean – we will probably lose 80% and those 20% will need to be proficient with AI.
I think it's going to make the pie bigger in general by reducing prices for normal professional service and increasing it for the ones require more strategic view and human connection, more people have access to these technologies so if the prices are lower they're going to use it.
The downside is for designer with mediocre output. Competition for getting the best design requests is definitely going to be harder.
I would've never hired a ghost writer to write my LinkedIn posts, but an AI helping me to be more active on LinkedIn for a small price is what I would pay for.
(Disclaimer, we're actually developing an AI agent for this purpose and I dogfooded it with my own money cause I found it interesting and valuable)

@ali_sahlolbei Yes, but what do you want to do with the rest of the people? Like they need to pivot their current position to totally something different? I think AI has solved cost cutting, but it hasn't solved what to do with the surplus of people yet. If these people are "hungry", they won't buy products because they won't have money.
@busmark_w_nika People are already doing it, it's been happening for decades, from industrialization to automation and now AI.
Although there might be a dip now, but people will adapt and go after the new jobs that are going to be created.
Just because of getting bred people will try to find a job. Also, in long view we're not going to have surplus of people but actually the opposite.
yes it has drastically affected the way we do everything

@ajinsunny Have you seen any cut-offs because of the AI in your company or in the companies nearby you?
@busmark_w_nika not really cut-offs but reduction in hiring.

We have actually reduced the number of graphic designers in last one year by 80%. Yes, we had to let go of people who could not use AI. The ones who are able to leverage AI to build faster / better are still with us.
Now more and more we see folks across product, HR, marketing and even leadership using AI themselves to come up graphics instead of raising a request to graphics and then waiting for turn around.
This has led to faster or almost instant turn arounds now and helped us tremendously.

@gaurav_tripathi2 Would you say that if all 80% would use AI, did you have them on the board, or did you make cut-offs anyway?
