Do you think AI conducting interviews will revolutionize hiring?

Imagine conducting 1000s of interviews simultaneously around the clock, without worrying about interviewers' availability. Identifying the top talent with AI-generated scores & engaging with active candidates before they commit elsewhere. What is your view on human-less interviews? How will this impact recruiters and candidates?

I've built some of these apps and to be honest, I've come around to believing they are a bad idea. You're already suggesting that this is a way to connect with candidates who have other options. But those are exactly the people who will decline to be interviewed by AI. This kind of automation creates a huge amount of extra work for candidates (if every company uses an AI to interview every candidate) without much benefit for candidates. At least we're also getting AI tools for candidates to automatically pass interviews. 😉

@vincentropy I would beg to differ. The AI interview is only replacing an interviewer. The candidate would have taken the interview anyway, be it with humans or without. I think again, it's on the company to choose and use the tool well to actually reduce their time spent on interviews and not simply send it to every candidate who applies. Do you agree?

@vincentropy That's a valid point about AI interviews potentially being used more on vulnerable candidates. However, after working in HR for almost 5 years, I hear a lot from candidates who feel like they don't get a chance to talk about themselves when we just look at their resumes. With AI interviews, there's no time pressure, so everyone gets a chance to show what they can do before they get rejected. I think giving everyone a chance is way more important. Is it okay for candidates to use AI for interviews? Absolutely not, because AI taking interviews does not hamper the fairness of the interview, while a candidate taking one will hamper it. If the companies do not miss using it and use it in the right way, it could be a win-win I would say.

AI conducting interviews definitely has the potential to revolutionize hiring by making the process more efficient and scalable. However human interaction is necessary for assessing cultural fit and building relationships

@andreas_sohns Absolutely! AI interviews, while they can help with handling volume problems, are only recommended for the first or second round and cannot replace a culture-fit or technical round. It could be somewhat of an alternative to assessments for non-technical roles. What do you think?
