AI companies launching: What are your differentiation strategies?

With what now (at least on PH) seem to be new AI companies rolling out on a daily basis, most of which trained with some variation of GPT or comparable LLMs - how do you differentiate and stand out form the pack?

Great question Dan! In our case, we focused on our niche (app & software development). We identified a specific problem in our industry and focused on solving it. Since we're experts in the field, this helped us build a highly tailored solution for both our current users and new users as well.

@gusoliveira_ love that! curious if you've seen higher churn with more and more AI in the space or if you've made a much more conscious effort to "hand hold" your current user base?

I think maybe ignore the fact that you have this new piece of tech and start with the problem people have. Then if LLMs or any other ML models are the solution to the problem, I don't think you really need to worry about competition but rather about getting the problem solved for customers.

Solve a problem! Then make it AI-powered. haha. Yeah, I see replica AI products launch literally every day here. (E..g last week I saw maybe 6 AI QR code makers launch haha) I think the ones that find success run away from indie hacker twitter/Producthunt for customers. They seem like crowded pools of customers, especially in AI. Compared to like...(random) Carpet stores. Who's providing their QR codes? I think initial customers from a underserved/non-online pool are vital for AI tools. A customer like me, for example, compares literally every tool here to Midjourney and GPT4, which are top-of-the-line. So far, I haven't seen a tool/wrapper launch that beats either. 😅
