For quite some time I am browsing several sites to see how they tackle app downloads on their own website. The common themes I came across were:
- OS detection to display the download button with the OS but also telling the user they could download it for other platforms "here"
- a generic download button that redirects to a download page with several download cards per OS and some more meta information
- a dropdown, which lets the user choose what they want to download
The last one I mentioned, is what really got me by surprise in a positive way - the only issue being I cannot remember what it was 🥲
Did you have a WOAH moment once AND remember what it was? Feel free to share it or even plug your own download UX!
Let me know what you think of this.
