Are there any other community platforms out there with the live chat and voice features of Discord?

I'm doing some research on community-hosting platforms, and while I think Discord offers the best casual and seamless interactions, I'm curious if there are platforms out there meant not just for gamers/streamers and have asynchronous features like threads and forums along with synchronous ones like live chat.

I think http://spectrum.chat/ is a new one in the game. Not sure about voice chat features but sure has the ability to create new communities and forums, public or private

@aryan_m_kumar yeah I love spectrum! Wish there was a white-labeled version though that I could host on my own

@maximgeller Look around at GitHub I guess, you could find an open source project that is self hosted..

We're currently working on adding voice calling features along with our live chat and team chat. We're nearing the end of our testing phase and expect it will be available early next year! Channel.io
