How do you write a privacy policy and a terms of use for your side project without a lawyer?

I am working alone on a side project. I don't have any resources to hire a lawyer to write a privacy policy and a terms of use for the project. How do other solo founder create these two documents? Example: https://www.ycombinator.com/legal/

II always try to consult with my lawyer on any issues related to the law, as I want to be protected, so as not to have problems later. Once, I was prosecuted for fraud, because I decided to make my own papers for the tax authorities for my business, and I confess, all very poorly and with a lot of mistakes. They took it as a manipulation of documents and accordingly I had problems. I tried to defend myself without an attorney, but then I realized I was making things worse, so I turned to Middlesex County Criminal Defense Lawyer, who is considered the best in the state of NJ, and they took my case. I am very grateful to them, as thanks to them, I had to pay a minimal fine for this irresponsible act, and now I consult with them all the time.

Well it kind of depends on the complexity of your project. I suggest looking into something like getterms.io. Another great source is seqlegal.com, but will require a bit more work as their legal documents are tailored to obide with UK law.

In fact, all the privacy policies on many sites are pretty much the same and are in the public domain. So you can use it as a template, adding your own points. But still, it is better to ask for help from a qualified specialist who can help you. Once I was injured at work. I tried to convince my boss to give me compensation, but he didn't want me to.
