I've recently grown interested in marketing for startups and entrepreneurs. It'd be a pleasure to pick your brains. What's the biggest marketing challenge you've experienced working at a startup or on a small, bootstrapped project?

Mine is getting visibility with a limited marketing budget.

Mine is two-fold. First, finding out where the right channels are. How do you get in front of potential customers/fans? And secondly, how do you have a conversation about your product without coming off as spammy or overly promotional
