Stay close despite the distance with Gather, the super-simple group video chat app. Easily schedule and share virtual experiences like happy hours, coffee chats and more with friends and family members and get everyone talking in just a couple taps.
Absolutely love that Gather prompt's users with different event ideas and makes it easy for everyone to follow through. Cannot wait to try this out with family and friends. Great work from @kyleighsmith and team!
Congratulations on the launch team! @kyleighsmith is one of the best product designers I know. Looking forward to watching this company grow. ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ณ
Over the past few weeks, as weโve been distancing socially in an attempt to "flatten the curve", weโve felt increasingly isolated from friends and family and craving social events that we used to take for granted. We've seen a bunch of people playing around with Facetime, Zoom, and HouseParty but we wanted to build something better: an app that you can quickly get any relative on, that's private and doesn't use your data in sketchy ways, and that lets you enjoy both spontaneous and scheduled get-togethers. The result is Gather -- it's made just for social events, with a focus on simplicity so you can spend less time figuring out how to get everyone on a video chat and more time actually talking. In just a couple taps, you can schedule and invite friends to happy hours, joint workouts, brunch dates, or more.
I'm one of the app developers - let me know what you think!
Heads up - we DO have an Android app also but it's currently suspended. We're working hard to get it reinstated on the Play Store, but in the meantime Android users can take advantage of the web app to attend events created by iOS users.
