Play board, card, and party games online with family and friends or gather your remote team for a fun team building activity. GameApart works with any video conference platform. New games are released monthly. Let's get this remote party started!
@yehoshua_zlotogorski We're building our way up to that... both in complexity and licensing π. But technically speaking, any game where the mechanics have a shared/tabletop view (shared over the video call) plus a private/controller view (via everyone's phone) we can support it!
This is such a cool product! Do you have recommendations on which video conferencing platform this works best on or where youβve had great experiences?
@kaustin Thanks KayeCee! Officially we're totally platform agnostic... as long as it supports screen sharing. With that said, "Make Zoom Fun Again" was in the running for our tagline, so that's certainly the one that's been tested the most. For teams, Teams and Slack work as well. More that we've tested with are listed here: https://www.gameapart.com/what-v...
Hi all! I'm the Founder and CEO of GameApart, and I'm super excited to launch on Product Hunt today! π
Our platform allows you to play party games with family, friends, and colleagues over any video conference tool (Zoom, Meet, Skype, Teams, Slack, etc.). π
This past year we've all become accustomed to conducting business over Zoom, and now it's time to have some fun. For the last few years my friends and I had a standing game night, which usually meant we played a game or two while catching up, drinking, and generally just staying connected. The pandemic put a pause on that⦠until we figured out we could do it virtually, and--though we definitely miss in person hangouts--we actually had more of us showing up than ever before, since there was always SOMEONE traveling, with new kids, sick, etc. All we were missing was easy-to-play party games. Enter GameApart!
Over the last few months we've built a system to bring people together with our unique spins on popular games such as Cards Against Humanity, Heads Up, Taboo, Crazy Eights, and more. Additionally, we're collaborating with independent makers such as Done with 2020, Charty Party, and Neddy Games (more partnerships being announced soon!) to include their games as well. π
1/ To begin, a host assembles their remote crew over any video conferencing app and selects a game from gameapart.com.
2/ All the players download our mobile app to their smartphone and connect to the host's game. The app is used to play their hands.
3/ Hilarity ensues.
For the Product Hunt community, we're offering 3-months of our ad-free experience. We have six games to choose from today, and we're releasing at least one new game a month. So let's get this party game started! π₯³
Have questions or feedback? We'd love to connect with you below!! π
Love this! We've been playing Catan - hacking it together by also connecting over WhatsApp/zoom while we play online as a group, but it's nice to have a new way to mix it up! Thanks for launching! ππ
@dr_dani Thanks Daniel! Would love you feedback when you do, as we're just starting to roll out team-centric features--tbh the teambuilding potential didn't really hit our radar at first (mostly we were thinking of how to keep friends and family connected), but have since realized how critical social engagement is for distributed teams, and are building out some special features around this.
Wow! This is an excellent app! Especially for our days, when we can't be together so often( Can't wait to ry it out with my friends. Congrats with the launch!
@cpyles17 Yes! It's supposed to pop up automatically for everyone coming from PH. We've had a few isolated reports of it not... but that's the right link, or feel free to message me and we'll make sure you're taken care of!
I loooove it! I'm not much into computer game but I'm obsessed with old-school board or cart games and therefore I like this idea very much! Great job and super cool :)!!!
@mona_erb Thanks Mona! We're working hard to build a platform that enhances your time engaging with friends, family, or colleagues... vs. the more intense games where the time is really all about the game.
Congrats on the launch! Iβve played with both my family back east and with my employees...both were great fun! I felt like it was game night w my family in our living room, and my staff and I definitely felt more connected after our sessions.
Looking forward to playing more games- this is now a staple in our family entertainment rotation.
