Hey everyone,
Thanks for checking out this side-project of mine - GaaC (Github As a CDN). I always found the image part of writing blogs annoying. If you use a CMS, you are tied to them to manage the assets. If you use markdown, then you have to commit the image every time. What about you have to refer to that image in some other project?
This is why I built this small too and it has been really helpful for me. I think could be really helpful for anyone who writes blogs, builds websites or apps, or just needs to manage a lot of images and static files.
The idea is simple: instead of hosting your images and files on a traditional CDN, you can use your public GitHub repository as a CDN. This has a few benefits:
- It's completely free and doesn't require any additional hosting fees
- It's super easy to use - just connect to your public GitHub repository and start uploading files. You can also delete or modify them as needed.
- It comes with a search + preview UI, so you can quickly find the files you need and see what they look like without having to download them.
I've found this to be a huge time-saver for my own projects, and I hope it can help others as well. If you're interested, you can check out GaaC at gaac.vercel.app.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
@toughyear
