As a design team working on various projects, we often have the need to choose and test out different typefaces and combinations, expressing the brand in the best way possible. Our clients are international and sometimes there’s a need for Cyrillic fonts. However, the Cyrillic script itself has visual variations between different languages. The idea for this app was provoked this month when I was searching for free fonts with Cyrillic script including the Bulgarian glyphs. I had issues with testing the typefaces Google provides because they show the Russian Cyrillic by default and to see the Bulgarian one I had to either download the font and use it in Photoshop or “hack” the page through the “Inspect Element” function of the browser - a solution found by Hristiyan. I shared this problem with him and just a few days after, he made this extension does wonders for me as a designer and the whole Oblik Studio team is now using!
