Hi all. I am Kshetez, the dev behind FocusMode.
I'm excited to share FocusMode - born from a simple realization: we're losing an insane amount of productive hours every week without even noticing it.
🤯 The Reality Check:
Every week, the average person loses 17+ hours of productivity:
- 4 hours lost switching between tasks
- 5 hours scrolling through distractions
- 3 hours fighting procrastination
- 2 hours juggling multiple todo apps
- 3 hours trying to get back on track
- ♾️ hours wasted cause of burnout
💡 Solution:
Instead of adding another complex productivity system, FocusMode does ONE thing exceptionally well - helps you focus on one task at a time.
I launched on January 1st and have been iterating daily based on real user feedback.
🎯 Here are the Key Features:
- Always-visible floating timer that never gets in your way
- Single-task focus to eliminate task-switching anxiety
- Quick Access Panel with keyboard shortcuts
- Smart Pomodoro system
- Privacy-focused (no data collection, works offline)
- Analytics to help you track your growth
I'm actively working on improvements and would love your feedback!

How did you come up with the "lost hours of productivity"? Seems very exaggerated to me.
Also, reviews without links always look suspicious to me.
Anyway, looks like a quite sophisticated solution.
This is an excellent way to fight overwhelm but does FocusMode include any gamification features such as streaks or rewards to help keep users engaged?
I love the simplicity of this it's all about focus without any distractions. Does FocusMode work with task managers like Todoist or Notion or is it meant to be used on its own?
@tyler_wright1 yes it provides various timer modes like Pomodoro but that too focused on working on 1 task at a time. how this works is: you work on 1 task and after your pomodoro work time(customizable) is finished you will get break notification and now you can take a break or skip it (shown in one of the images).
Congrats @FocusMode | One task at a time@kshetez_vinayak on FocusMode!

Many focus apps face challenges with user retention. What strategies does FocusMode employ to ensure users continue to engage rather than revert to their previous habits?
This is interesting but what makes FocusMode different from other task oriented Pomodoro apps? Is it the user interface, the workflow or something else entirely?
@justin_deacon yes it provides an analytics page where you can see many cool analytics like total focus time, tasks complete etc. you can also change time range to see more or less
FocusMode is my go-to tool for staying focused ;-).
When I need to dive into deep work like research, brainstorming, or creative tasks, I start by making a simple commitment to myself: 'I'll dedicate an hour to this.' Then, I follow a straightforward routine: block time for deep work, activate FocusMode, and fully immerse myself in the task.
An excellent app that has consistently helped me stay on track with my tasks and goals. Even when I exceed my self-imposed deadlines, the app keeps me organized and productive. It's a game-changer for anyone managing a busy schedule. Highly recommended and absolutely worth it🚀
