Hi Product Hunt! Valerie here, the creator of Focused. I created Focused for personal use since I do a lot of research and browse tons of web pages daily. Focused leverages the scanning reading technique - meaning you read only the first sentence of each paragraph and only if you encounter something interesting, the entire paragraph. As an avid reader, I use this technique a lot when reading books. Since I started to read more and more in a browser, I was thinking that it would be great to have some sort of visual aid to help me get the general idea of an article or a post. I also knew that I needed something extremely simple that won't distract me from reading. This is how Focused, a minimalistic browser extension for speed reading, was born.
