f.lux for iOS is designed to give you a better experience with your computer. It regulates the colors of your display so it can match the time of the day properly. That can reduce your eye strain or your headache or even help you sleep at night.
Unfortunately, that didn't last long. @herf just updated the site with the following:
Apple has contacted us to say that the f.lux for iOS download (previously available on this page) is in violation of the Developer Program Agreement, so this method of install is no longer available.
He continues to credit Product Hunt, LifeHacker, BGR , 9to5Mac , TechCrunch, and The Next Web for driving 176k visits in the past 24 hours. RIP, f.lux for iOS.
It's working great for me so far. However, the notifs are super annoying. It let me know the sun was setting in 28, 22, 15 minutes and 1 minute ago. That's a bit much. Then I turned off lock screen notifs and it still turns on my screen and shows the "TouchID or Enter Passcode" screen. Hmm...
Got it working. my eyes are so happy.
xcode is a foreign world to me. So I was a bit confused when installing. For this step "Under Targets > iflux > General > Identity, add a word to the end of the Bundle Identifier to make it a unique name"
This is what you need to do:
Just installed this. It's amazing. Exactly what I needed and expected. F.lux is the first app I tell anyone to download on their new Macbook and this is no exception. If anyone can't install this and needs it, I don't mind adding you to the build on HockeyApp.
This is so legit. You have to compile it to use it. So ridic. It's like such a basic, good idea and yet they have to resort to insane methods to distribute it. Love it.
Amazing, been using F.lux on my Mac for the past 6 months and was waiting for this. Hope apple realizes the value of this and allows into the App Store, however it's more likely that they build native into iOS at some point...
@rrhoover I'd love for it to be available normally. One thing I also find is at night the backlight, even at the minimum setting, it still too bright. Would be great if you could override this
@smithjw@rrhoover I found this also and then came across an accessibility option to dim the screen further. I then set it up against the home button 3 tap shortcut so I can toggle the dimming at night. This post explains it well: http://www.techrepublic.com/arti... :)
