Flowbite is an ecosystem of open-source libraries, tools, and products built around Tailwind CSS consisting of a Figma design system, component library, website section and page templates, and other tools.
I have been following Flowbite since day 1 and they just consistently ship high quality Tailwind code.
Lots of UI kits slow down as they hit "scale" but Zoltán and the crew are only getting faster!
@volkandkaya Thanks for your message and recommendation, Volkan! It's great to hear that from someone who's also building a component library with Tailwind CSS.
We've been using Flowbite lib with our headless CMS ( https//suncel.io ) and made several editable components from the Flowbite library (see our youtube channel).
We've been impressed by the number of components available and we really love their modern design.
I think it's one of the best UI components lib.
@david_dumont Thanks a lot for your message, David! As I've mentioned in the other reply, I definitely see a lot of synergy between Flowbite / Suncel / Next JS as we also used the Ghost / Next JS / Flowbite stack on our own website.
Really excited to see more integrations on this end.
Amazing Kit & Kudos to this hard work.
Pretty sure many developers will use Flowbite in the future (me included).
Good luck with this launch up to #1st position
Congrats guys, well deserved! We've made Flowbite our recommended design to launch flow for agencies, designers and devs building sites onto our platform (Siteglide). Having the comprehensive Figma Design System and the corresponding code/layouts is invaluable in speeding up web projects while ensuring quality. Not only is the product fantastic but they're a great team to work!
Keep up the great work guys! I'd 100% recommend giving Flowbite a spin if you haven't already!
Hey Product Hunt 👋
One year ago we introduced the first version of Flowbite and it ended up being the #1 product of the day and the 4th of the week. At that point in time, Flowbite was only the beginning of an ecosystem of products and tools built around Tailwind CSS.
Today I want to show you the second version of Flowbite which introduces a more complete picture of what the ecosystem is to become including completely new features and updates to existing ones:
📚 Flowbite Library - Open-source components built with Tailwind CSS
🎨 Flowbite Figma - Design system built for Figma
🧱 Flowbite Blocks - Building sections for website and applications
💎 Flowbite Pro - A larger collection of the open-source version of the latter three
Flowbite Library (view docs)
With the first commit being made over one year ago and with over 3,000 stars on the GitHub repository it is currently one of the most popular component libraries built on top of Tailwind CSS featuring hundreds of interactive UI components such as navbars, modals, dropdowns, and more.
It is open-source under the MIT license and because of this it's a main driver of the community growth and contributions to the library.
The library also hit over 1 million downloads on NPM a few weeks ago, and it is currently trending over 58,000 downloads per week.
📹 Here's a video with Florin Pop using one of the earlier versions of the library.
Flowbite Figma (view presentation)
Originally called Tailwind Figma, it was in fact the first iteration of what Flowbite is now currently and we launched it over 2 years ago on Product Hunt, ending up #1 product of the day as well.
It's a complex design system built in Figma featuring variants, auto layout, grids, dark mode, responsive devices, and all of this is built for integration with the Flowbite Library and the utility classes from Tailwind CSS.
📹 Here's a video Arnau Ros using one of the first versions of the design system which has advanced a lot since then.
Flowbite Blocks (view collection)
One of our latest release for the Flowbite ecosystem is the blocks system collection which currently consists of over 250 website sections built for marketing purposes (ie. hero sections, pricing sections), applications (CRUD layouts, sidebars), and even publishing (ie. blog layouts, articles).
This was a huge success when launched to our community as we see more and more developers and designers using these block sections complementary to the Figma design system and the library.
📹 Adrian recently did a great job showing how these block sections can be used when building a website from scratch.
Flowbite Pro (view presentation)
The pro version of Flowbite allows you to unlock all of the collection of Flowbite Blocks, the full version of the Figma Design System, and a few others dashboard layout templates and code snippets.
This is a way for the open-source community to support us to keep developing the Flowbite ecosystem with new designs, code, and tools.
Credits
I would like to give special thanks to all of our community members who have provided feedback, opened up PRs, actively contributed to the open-source library including Flowbite React, Flowbite Vue, Flowbite Svelte, and Flowbite Angular.
Also a special shoutout to our partners from Creative Tim, AppSeed, SiteGlide, UPDIVISION, Simmmple, and Prepr for collaborating even more than just the open-source contribution of the libraries and software.
PS: you can follow me on Twitter for more frequent updates regarding Flowbite.
Congratulations, Zoltan & the team!
I've been using Flowbite for a while now in my open-source projects, and it is very well put together and documented!
@andrasbacsai Thanks, Andras! We're always happy to see devs and designers keep using Flowbite on a long terms - it's why we're commited so much to this project.
This looks really interesting! I've been using Tailwind lately to revamp our landing page for our Beta launch (we're also launching on PH, this Sunday!) and it really boosted my productivity.
How would you compare it to Tailwind UI?
@balazsi_robert Thanks, Robert! I still remember when we had no idea what Flowbite was or it would be. Interesting to see how time and effort can make a huge difference.
Been following the progress for a while now from the early days and it's amazing to see how well it's progressed into an amazing ecosystem!
Great work team and appreciate how you guys are open to feedback and turn changes around so quickly.
Look forward to seeing the next evolution!
@amritnagi Thanks for the kind words, Amrit! You've been supportive of us by featuring some of our projects on Tailwind Toolbox and also providing us feedback from time to time (which we actually implemented, haha).
Excited for the next couple of years and what that will mean for the Flowbite / Tailwind CSS ecosystem.
I used Flowbite once with HUGO to create this static html report and it was very delightful. I even filed an issue on their GitHub. Super stoked about the launch!
Last year, on the launch, the framework was pretty simple. Even if it came only with Figma and Tailwind, it solved a lot of use cases for developers and designers.
Now, after just 1 year, the features that were released are just blowing your mind! You have videos, you have blocks, you have PRO pages, you have a massive community around it, and you have over 1 million downloads which is the best metric to see the health of a framework.
Congratulations guys! 🚀 @zolidev@roberttanislav
@roberttanislav@axelut Appreciate the kind words, Alex! You've been with us from the early days, and that counts a lot in our books. Excited for new partnerships on the Flowbite - Material Tailwind & Flowbite - Creative Tim axis.
