Hey everyone, we’re super excited to share Fitycal with you today. It’s a project that started because we felt frustrated with how hard it was to track meaningful progress on our fitness journeys. Weight and BMI alone just don’t tell the whole story, nor do the countless pics and mirrors, and we wanted something that shows the bigger picture. With Fitycal, you can 3D scan yourself in 10 seconds using your iPhone, and track things like your measurements, body fat %, lean mass, and more.. all without expensive equipment. It’s been a game-changer for us and the early users who’ve tried it out. We’re not perfect, and we know there’s room to grow. That’s why we’d love your honest feedback. Is there a feature you’d like to see? Something that could make it even more useful for your goals? Thanks for checking it out, and we can’t wait to hear what you think!
@tonyabracadabra Thanks, Tony! 😊 Great question! When compared to measuring tapes, Fitycal’s 3D scans are, in a way, more accurate and consistent since there’s no risk of user error, like pulling the tape too tight, or measuring above or under the previous mark. For DEXA scans (most effecient way to calculate your body fat), they’re super accurate but expensive and not as accessible. Fitycal’s scans are 1–2% accurate compared to DEXA for body fat percentage (according to a Prism Labs study that I mentioned in my other comment), giving you a convenient and reliable alternative to track your progress over time. I'm excited to know more about what you think of this, and would love to get your feedback on the accuracy as well if you're down to try our app ^^

Congrats on the launch, @souka_ina. How accurate is the body fat percentage measurement compared to traditional methods like Calipers or DEXA scans?
Thanks for asking, @ashitvora! 😊 FITYCAL’s body fat percentage measurement is super impressive thanks to the tech behind it. It uses 3D scanning algorithms that have been validated against professional tools like DEXA scans. According to a recent Prism Labs study , the results are within 1–2% accuracy of DEXA for body fat percentage—pretty incredible for a smartphone-based solution, right? You can check out the full study here: https://www.prismlabs.tech/blog/... While it's not meant to replace clinical methods, it’s an excellent tool for tracking trends and staying consistent in monitoring your progress. You’ll see how your body is changing over time, which is what can really matter for people on a given fitness journey. Have you tried using calipers or DEXA before? I’d love to hear how you think our app compares if you do give it a go!

Congratulations on the launch @souka_ina. Will this be available for Android users soon as well?
@michael_talreja Thank you! We do plan on launching the Android version later in the upcoming year ^^

Using the VR and AI capabilities of the iPhone for body assessments is a great idea, but I'm not sure about the accuracy at this stage. I've used some professional equipment at the gym before, and it was often inaccurate.

I ocassionally do a DEXA scan to get my exact measurements and monitor alignment. I can't imagine this is very accurate in measuring things like body fat % though. Curious to learn how it works, @souka_ina. :)
@rrhoover Hey Ryan! 🙌 Great to hear you’re already using DEXA scans (definitely the gold standard!) Fitycal’s 3D scans don’t aim to replace DEXA, at least not anytime soon with the current capabilities, but instead offer a super convenient way to track 'trends' over time. The app uses advanced computer vision to estimate body fat %. Based on a validation study, we’re within 1–2% of DEXA for body fat, which we think is pretty awesome for just using a smartphone :) Handy sidekick for your regular DEXA check-ins. Something consistent, quick, and way less intimidating than a clinical scan (at least for me 😅). Here's more about how it works: https://www.prismlabs.tech/blog/... Would love to hear what you think, especially in comparison, if you give it a try!

I'm Curious if it can track things like posture or muscle imbalances as well?
@turab_ansari You can track muscle imbalances with our Symmetry analysis feature. As for the posture, it's not yet included as a feature by itself since it can be viewed in the 3D avatar, but if it's something that gets requested a lot, we will surely make sure to include it :)
