This is actually pretty cool. I've been trying to track body changes from workouts but the mirror lies and the scale doesn't tell the whole story.
3D scanning from just a phone sounds almost too good to be true though - how accurate is it compared to like a DEXA scan? And does it work if you're not perfectly still?
Also curious if it tracks changes over time or just gives you current measurements.
Hi Konstantin! You made me chuckle (positively) with the 'too good to be true' part, because it's big part of what we deal with frequently: convincing our customers that this actually works.. And to be honest, we also had the same reaction the first time we came across this capturing technology provided by Prism Labs.
Precision: When scanning the same person multiple times under the same conditions, the variation in body fat percentage is as low as 0.5%.
Accuracy: The absolute median error in body fat percentage estimation compared to DEXA scans is 3.5%.
As for the changes overtime, the app focuses on that a lot, since it's a tracking app. We have an overview that showcases Lean Mass, Fat Mass, Fat Percentage.. progress overtime, but most importantly, we have the comparison feature that allows users to compare two scans at any moment to check the minute changes in measurements and body values.
Thank you for showing interest in the app! I would love to hear your honest feedback if you were to try it. Feedback keeps us improving ๐

For the accuracy part, we have a detailed article comparing this technology to DEXA scans and similar methods here: https://www.fitycal.com/post/how-accurate-is-fitycal-s-3d-body-scan-a-deep-dive-into-smartphone-based-precision
